same shop for 2 different MSCs

I just self-assigned with one MSC and saw the same shop with a different MSC for the same dates. Should I email the MSCs and ask if its ok to do both shops?

You should if you plan to do both shops. Otherwise, you could end up getting kicked to the curb by two MSCs and the client. Oops!

Typically, no. Same scenario shops at the same location, same time are considered double-dipping. The client has them with different MSCs to gain different reports/different shopper base. Having the same shopper perform the same shop with both MSCs at the same time means the client is getting a duplicate, useless report. Kinda defeats the purpose.

I suppose a case could be made in its' favor if you were performing two different, separate evaluations for each MSC. Not using the same start-end times, making different purchases, having different receipts, leaving and coming back, etc.... You'd really have to ask.

I have done Papa John's shops for different clients at the same time, when they were both nicely bonused. I ordered two pizzas, separately. One for pickup, one for delivery (their scenarios)... They were from the same Papa John's location. I'd just finished photoing my pickup pizza when my delivery pizza arrived.

I cleared it with the MSCs beforehand.

Not if they are the same scenario and/or you would be using the same recept, for all of the above reasons.
But, if one was for service and then you made a second visit on a cash handling integrity scenario, I would ask the two MSCs if you could do both. BUT, remember, since they will both know the name of the client, you cannot tell either MSC the name of the other.

I managed to line up a parking garage shop and the business the garage is attached to. I'm going to walk around and enter the business from the front door and not the garage elevator.

With my luck, they will insist on validating my parking ticket and ruining the other shop.

Validated parking was never even discussed in the shop notes for Standard Parking.
Scanman,
You can always tell the business that you left the claim check in the car to avoid having them validate it. If the parking shop has anything at all to do with cash integrity, having the parking comped by the business might well invalidate the parking report.

Sometimes the parking shops are better paying than the businesses they're attached to!! Whenever I got offers of well-bonused parking shops, I'd hunt to find something nearby. Happened a few times.

To avoid double-dipping, I just tell the business I didn't know they had a parking garage, so I parked down the street at a meter.

I miss parking shops.

Very carefully, read the guidelinies and restrictions. If there is no prohibition from either MSC, do both shops. Most likely, this is a competitor shop, or another MSC's attempt to woo the client. No harm, no foul, when all guidelines have been adhered to.

I had a similar situation. Same scheduler...I did a large shopping mall, with close to 100 businesses. Min time 10 mins per business. A few weeks later I accepted a shop at one of those 100 business, and I was required to call the MSC for phone training. I asked the trainer, when I saw some time frame involved, if I could still do the shop and explained the mall shop. She thanked me for my honesty and said because the guidelines were somewhat different, this time with a targeted item, 20 min minimum and the other shop was a different MSC than theirs, it would be fine. Did the second shop with no issues. S2
