Verizon Photo Audit?

I did one of these, ONLY one! I got paid $75 and still didn't feel like I got paid enough. I spent three hours in the store, and another one hour on the report. Luckily, my report was accepted. Someone around here is taking them at the $28.

I'm glad I read this whole thread. I was a click away from taking a "New from Verizon" shop thinking I was going to get easy quick money on my back from another assignment.

Thanks for the heads up
Having done two for them at the base pay, it would take a phone call from a scheduler and I'd start my offer at $75 and go no lower than $50 to do it again. If I had to travel a bit, it would be a firm $75.

I'd rather go to McDonalds 3x in one day for the $10 bonused shops. Much less work, and free food. (if you can call it that)
Picked up one of these after reading the first few days of this thread, scheduled for tomorrow. Now that this thread has gotten much longer, I'm kind of freaked out about it! Being new to the biz, and having only done one other audit (GNC), it's a bit intimidating.
Laura, if you can handle the GNC audit, you'll do fine with these.

For such a tiny store, GNC audits are a NIGHTMARE.

Well now I am having a major anxiety issue with this shop. I am sooo sorry that I accepted it for the paltry fee. Just thinking that this is going to be an all day event is very depressing. Thanks for all the tips, they do help a bit but I think we all know this is a PITA. My butt is hurting just thinking about this audit.
Thanks. I did get the gas station audits down but remembering the first few gives me the jitters. Not gonna flake on these jobs but just seeing the word planogram or whatever it is gives me a pain. I just wish I could see how many pages of instructions there are before accepting the shop. Seven to 10 pages = good, twenty-five to forty = darn it.
Thanks for the tips BillBryaninCarthage and the words of encouragement BBird0701. For me most new things come with a certain level of anxiety. I do think that having read this thread I will be better prepared and won't have that "Oh no, what have I gotten myself into!" moment when arriving in the store.
Thanks for the info. I thought the part about waiting 30 minutes was a bit odd. Actually I am keeping my fingers crossed that they refuse - haha. I have found a couple of paranoid Verizon employees but I usually just smile and keep it non threatening. I figure it is not personal so if they refuse - less work for me- but I have never had one refused (sad face.)
I always take my exterior picture before I enter the location, unless there is an employee outside. There are some shops that specifically state to take an exterior picture after the shop. But, I don't think these shops have that requirement.
I just did the $12 audit with 10 pg instructions. I reported the answers but have to wait until I get home to rename the pics and attach them to the report. It took me 27 minutes in the store, and that was me really taking my time. With the instructions saying to allow up to 2hrs, I was a little nervous, but it was a piece of cake. I feel better about doing the $28 one I have coming up next week. Everyone was agreeable to me. The manager didn't seem to be aware of the program, but after reading the letter he allowed me to start with no trouble.

I have been during these shops since the end of August/beginning of September. But wait a minute. The $28 and the $12 can be done on the same day, and in the same time frame. The $28 one is looking for anything out of complainace, while the $12 one is looking for corrected branding(the checkmark and the word with the Zeeeeeeeeee). Knowing the one is longer paperwork, I do that one first. It is like a POSTOR said take as many pictures as you can and take one picture three times if you have too. Because you can't submit the same picture for different questions.

I have never had a manager refused me but I have one or two decide it was time for them to be "on the floor more". You know like straightening up or command other employees to "do this, do that". But that did not stop me.

When I did the audit in September, the shop fee was $35, it was 10 pages and had different questions than the $12 shop has but similar in nature. $35.......down from last year, but it wasn't stressful. Plus the store was smaller. At the end of September/October 01st a new audit shows up. confused smileyconfused smiley

I only do the audits shops on days by themselves, because the photo submission is time consuming. Even if the store is 100% compliance, we still need to take a minumum of 20 pictures. My camera battery actually died during my film shoot. I was lucky I travel with at least two cameras and a camera phone. I finished the $28 shop and start the $12 shop. Yeah $40 but ............

I feel like the shop are more like we are doing inventory for VZ. I wish they would offer a higher shopper fee. I think a lot has to do also with the IPHONE 6 coming out. VErizon wants to keep and get more of those customers.

BTW, if you are doing more than one 36 page audit in a day, ask the help desk for an extension in submitting the report(if you need it). Even though they are priority, they will give you a little wiggling room. It is better to ask then to assume. smiling smileysmiling smileysmiling smileysmiling smiley

Don't forget the InVue Security sensorsgrinning smiley grinning smiley
BillBryan, yes, I have the 36 page audit coming up next week. 75 minutes doesn't sound bad, and my store is smallish. I was told that the manager doesn't need to record my time-out, in case I can't track him down immediately when I'm finished. I was told I can fill it in myself.
Although I agree with 90% of what "BillBryaninCarthage" has posted I will agree to it all. grinning smiley. Each shopper has there own abilities to preform the shop as best as can be. Although I present the audit slip to the MOD when I arrive, they shortly give it back to me after filling in the slip(s). They do not always fill in the time in, so it is not a "MUST'". I have never been called on it. I usually don't filled in the time, on the form either. I note the time on my guideline and move on.

I also like it when the MOD/assistant does not know what music source is playing. Some V-stores around here, have the local hip hop station playing or personal CD/DVD. or the MALL music. They also don't have a clearance section. I take the feature of the Month picture earlier, so that I know I have it, even if I stumble over the question by being tired.

I take a picture of every display twice. Then during the shop eval i take a picture of the issues. If it has more than one issues then there is more pictures to take. But some where in my cast of pictures it has already been taken. As for people, well they are in my pictures but as customer browsing around. Cause sometime you can't help it. Which is why I don't use a flash on my camera.

There are no police in the store around here unless they are preforming a second duty jobsmiling smiley

You can also check out those 5 required devices when you eval those devices and take a picture of callout card and sensors at that time, too.

TERIRAIA---------I don't think any of the managers will refuse the audit without hearing some back lash from corporate. VERIZON has invested too much money and profits into the business and retail stores to have someone not be on board with the technology advances.
Phew, my audit is done! The most difficult part, for me, was the uploading, sorting, naming, etc, of the pictures. Not necessarily difficult, just time consuming.

This is my first Verizon audit and second audit overall. With both I've gone into the store so wanting for them to be in compliance with everything. I want everyone to do well in all my shops. Unfortunately that is not always the case. Another time consuming part of the audit was the amount of things that did not follow the plan-o-gram, which of course led to more pictures being needed.

All in all a good experience. Thanks to all for the tips here, they were a huge help. Now I see the $12 shop for the same store on the board, so I may just have to make another visit winking smiley

That's possible. Have you done the 36 page one? The more I do the shorter it takes but I do both the shops in each store at the one time. An average of 90 mintues is what I take for both shops. I am glad they only want one picture of the outsided of the store now. Most of my shops are in malls I have to do a cinqo hommes with meat afterwards.smiling smiley
The MSc offers both shops . If your shops aren't being offered at the same time then they look like they are being offered after. The MSC is showing both shops at the same in my area. Remember some of the shops starting showing up in late August. But now with this new branding the $12 shop is too make sure all the right brand is in place. This is why the two shops can be done at the same time, each shop has different requirements. If you see them offered, assigned them both.

The MSC encourage us to take them both. It's like they are "killing two birds with one stone".smiling smiley

$40 and just a few more pictures. Don't use the same pictures. Pictures must not be duplicates pics of the other shop. I use two different cameras. I don't want to invalidated. I want to be PAID.smiling smiley
Interesting stories, Now I know I will stay away from them. Have done some other one's you know the Comcast./ Verizon

and that's enough for me. I am finding Video is the way to go more money less hassle. I hate to sound pessimistic but

I think there are a few companies that will take advantage to find a reason not to pay you, Those I am going to stay away

from. When on an apartment one and you have to call first and only speak to a certain person to make an appointment

it can be very trying when 1/ an answering machine picks up tells you to leave a message etc 2/ The next time someone else

answers and I made a mistake of making an appt. but not keeping it as that's what we were told to do. 3/ Third time lucky

reach the target make the appt. and go and do the assignment. Then get an email you are not getting paid because you

didn't speak to the right person the first time.lol

My guess is that the shops that say to take the exterior picture AFTER the shop will be mystery shops. They don't want you tipping off the store employees. But with something that's completely a revealed audit, like these Verizon 'questionaires', that reason doesn't apply.

Congratulations! Now, that's well worth it.

I did both shops yesterday. Whew! The $12 dollar one was easy, but the big one, well....let's say that the only display in compliance, in the entire store, was the iPhones. I think that on Q38, there were three accessories in their right places.

I'm a little worried, because on some of the displays, I went right to taking close-ups of problems, trying to show callout cards of items and accessories that shouldn't have been there, and never took an overall shot of the entire display. We'll see if that's a problem.

I didn't worry about getting the photos for the two shops mixed up. I just took a photo of the carpet, after I finished the first one, to mark the division between the two. (I did the short one first.)
