Walmart and target

I haven't seen the direct Starbucks shops in a while, but I end up shopping them indirectly a lot, since many grocery stores and hotels that I shop have a Starbucks inside them that I am required to evaluate. Kind of like a lot of the Walmart shops that aren't really for Walmart.

In those cases, I think the "baristas" are employee of the client I am shopping and the reporting is just on service, not the coffee.

If you aren't taking weights and temperatures, it probably is client employees rather than Starbucks.
That's what I was getting at, Flash. Much simpler shops when all you have to do is test product knowledge and see if they offer a free sample.

Are Sprouts and Newflower like Whole Paycheck? I don't know those stores, but they sound similar, to me, by their names.

Sprouts and Newflower are smaller and less expensive but offer the same healthy items as Whole Paycheck. Newflower opened a year or so ago and there are now 2 in the area. Sprouts just opened like 6 months ago and there are a bunch of them all over town. They seemed to all open at the same time. I really like their meats and their produce. Probably not as quality as WPay but lots and lots less expensive. I like them, especially Sprouts.
Walmart and Target perform mystery shops however due to the retailer's massive size and popularity concerns of employees knowing of the mystery shops lead them to be selective in how mystery shops are performed; therefore they most likely have an in-house program or they only do referrals.
I am aware that the CA Walmarts apparently hire their own mystery shoppers but have not heard over the years of other areas doing that or of Walmart being the location for shops except for other clients. They are competitor shopped as well as being shopped for certain product or for tenants located inside of Walmart. My guess is that over the years there would have been chatter for other situations or private correspondence.

America at its excessive self. My husband makes the best cup of coffee anywhere, for a pittance of the cost of Starbucks, et al. If we have leftover, on a hot summer day, it can be iced, flavored and is deliciously refreshing.
I just saw a link to an article at the bottom of MFI's new web page for......Starbucks winking smiley Doesn't mean they are shopped there. Just an observation.
It might mean they are going to be, though. :-) If so, I am sure the fee will be lower than it used to be with the old company. I used to love the SOS shops they had for Starbucks.

I'd been shopping the Harris Teeter stores for years. BARE use to handle this store, then last year it went to GFK. As of last September, GFK do longer handles Harris Teeter. Does anyone know what company is now handling the Harris Teeter stores.

Thanks.
I used to do a lot of Walmart and Target shops for a company I no longer work with. All you need is 1 person at company that doesn't like you, out you go. It doesn;t matter that all other schedulers think you are great.

Yes, that is the old site that was set up to do them. It is a Bare site and as far as I know has been bare of shops for some time.
I have observed such a price discrepancy in many other retailers as well. It is not exclusive to Walmart. I guess it just teaches customers to read labels and tags! smiling smiley

They went to a third MSP, and it's my understanding, they have only contracted for twice yearly shops. First round for this MSP was in March.

dhickman, it violates the independent contractor agreement you signed when you post MSP and client in the same thread. You should edit your post and remove the MSP's name, to adhere to your agreement.
I am sure this is a scam. I get these emails all the time. Walmart is a discount store. Ask yourself why would they give you $100 dollars to shop. Also they use their own shoppers not contractors.

The only time I ever did a job in Walmart was through a merchandising company. We had to check the blood pressure machine in the pharmacy and change the advertisements. As a mystery shopper I've never seen any shops in Walmart.

I found this surfing, so 'applied' under a fictitious name/phone/email .. It's not secure either.
For the folks interested in the Starbucks shops, they started a survey program where they measure customer service metrics via surveys etc...I used to work there.

Target is the company I just had to leave. They do not have hired shoppers. Instead the managers shop each others' stores, because practices vary so much across the country.
My understanding is both Target and Walmart treat their employees poorly and pretty much treat them as farm animals. I don't respect nor shop either one.

Costco? You betcha!
Anyone who reads this thread should note that most of it was posted in 2010, and might not be relevant to shopping now.
Starbucks does their own version of mystery shopping via an app. I see them all the time, but never bother with them.
