Walmart and target

There is a company who shall not be named that does cell phone shops inside Target in my area. Not quite the same thing as shopping at Target but they are easy shops with an easy report. They pay $10-15. Companies do compliance shops at Walmart as well as at the gas stations by Walmarts.

Best: I can attest to the fact that Target is a very nice, fair, and reputable company to work for.

I'm happy to hear that, Chix. I've always liked Target. Although I've not personally known anyone working there, I've always thought their employees were treated much better than Wal-Mart (which I always thought treated their employees much better than my least favorite, K-Mart - whch is gone now in my part of the country!)

Off topic, but I did want to reply to this. I worked for Target for many years, and your understanding is not accurate. Granted, it is hard work, and retail comes with some lousy hours, especially around the holidays. But Target paid a competitive wage and offered fantastic benefits and a retirement plan for all employees. They also did a very good job with team member recognition, training, and development.

The harder I work, the luckier I get.
I'm glad to hear Target treats its employees well. That's really important to me. Costco and Amazon both headquarter in my city. Costco treats it's employees well and many stay with them for decades. The employees at the Amazon headquarters are treated well, but the employees at Amazon's numerous order fulfillment centers are treated shabbily. Many have no air conditioning and temp0eratures soar over 95 in some of their centers. Quotas are paid close attention to and God help you if you're having a bad day. No thanks. I never order though them ...
Is this first-hand information you are providing, best? Do you or a family member work for Costco or Amazon? And where did the information come from that you provided about Wal-Mart and Target? Perhaps your information is not current or not first-hand or is location-specific, because Chix and jenw, who have worked for Target, disagree.

There's a lot of conflicting information about employee treatment at a lot of retail establishments. Some employees at retail establishments even think they are mistreated because their employer utilizes mystery shoppers - and heaven help them if they are having a bad day! It's a shame to make a purchase decision based on our perception of employee treatment because of second-hand information or something we've read (because we all know EVERYthing we read in print is 100% right and true, right?)

I'm interested in any Amazon, because I love shopping them. I'm also interested because Amazon has a large distribution center in Texas that I have had the pleasure to tour the facility (and I say pleasure because it was a pleasant visit, unlike many of my official visits to other warehouse locations) - not as a mystery shopper but as a state employee performing a state-required audit. In performing the audit, I met and spoke with many Amazon employees, and they seemed enthusiastic about Amazon and happy with their jobs. I didn't hear any horror stories or see distribution operations that I thought were below industry standard. Amazon has plans to build 3 more distribution centers here in Texas and I welcome them - I think they are a good employer I would recommend to job-hunting friends. If you have first-hand information about terrible conditions at fulfillment centers, please let me know - I will soon have 4 locations here in Texas to inspect.
