Hows everyone's October going?

I'm pretty swamped this month. I've been averaging 4-5 shops per day, but then someone calls and needs help so I'll take one more. It's kind of crazy and I really need to slow down because the rest of my life is starting to suffer! However, between a family trip to WDW and the IMSC conference, both in November, I'm going to have a much slower month next month, so I'm trying to cram as much into October as I can.

It's a little stressful because I've been taking a bunch of new shops that I haven't done before and I'm learning that isn't a good idea and adds to the stress! Better to do 4 familiar shops and one new shop in a day instead of the other way around!

I'm getting pretty sick of cell phone shops, though. I cannot BELIEVE how many of them there are. I could be doing 10 of those a day, 7 days a week and probably never go to the same place twice!

I hear that!!! I thought it would be a good idea to take on as many of these as I can but I'm so sick of doing the reports. Mostly the narrative portion.. Last batch to be completed tomorrow so almost there! grinning smiley

So far, I have three hotel shops, four bar integrity shops, three senior living shops, both a gas station and bank route, several retail shops, five investment shops, and three mortgage shops. By the time I complete the routes, I will have met my goal for the month. I can always count on my favorite schedulers to contact me the last week of the month, offering nice bonuses to fill shops that other shoppers have flaked on.

Really good!! I just booked myself up for the month. This is my second best month to date! I will not take anymore unless they are phone shops because I just can't really handle much more!! Well......unless they have a nice bonus!! LOL!
October has turned into my best month in a long time. I have already met my monthly financial goal with only 10 of 16 assigned shops completed. Feels like the good old shopping days.

Edited to add I can not believe I am turning down shops automatically assigned shops and offers because I am solidly booked through the end of the month. Fantastic month!

Oh my goodness!

17 post offices, 8 fast food, 7 casual dine in, 27 gas stations, 6 check cashing stores, three casinos, three big box electronics, 5 video cell phone stores, and Medicare open enrollment is starting. I can barely breathe. Am still waiting for fees to go up on banks and several other "normal" shops. Just picked up four DQ's for tomorrow night because the fees went up to $8 on each. The weather at night in Phoenix has turned nice so it will be just a nice drive around town with easy reports. lol

I have also done about 30 phone shops since 10/1. Just applied for some apartments. My calendar is filling to overflowing.

Oh my gosh, I am going to lie down now. Just reading about all the shops some of you do exhausts me. Keep up the good work! Now, off to figure out who shops Cheesecake Factory (after my nap I mean.)
Today's my last day of scheduled shops. Met my monthly goal last night, including the $220 I was short on last month.

Now, it's just relaxing and picking up bonused shops when they call.

Plan the work. Work the plan.
October is good for me this year. I've picked up some high paying shops and travel incentives for doing a couple. Will wind up my Target shop and picked up a payday loan shop plus the usual and also doing Medicare calls. The latter don't pay well but don't take much time either, no pictures, short report and I can do them in my jammies while drinking my coffee in the morning.
Things were creeping along slowly until yesterday when suddenly 16 shops hopped into my hands overnight. Of course I'm doing a happy dance because one of them is the test center shop and this particular test requires an essay. Last time I discoursed at length about the great cabbage rebellion on Zoltar. I have the best fun with those!

I've done just over 30 shops so far in October, mostly fast casual dining with some bank shops & Pottery Barns thrown in- starting to stock up on Christmas gifts! Have about 15 more scheduled for the rest of the month; if I can pick up 10 more with decent pay, I will meet my goal for the month!
This has been a very odd month in terms of when my week fills up each week. Week one was filled by mid-September, and week 2 by the end of September. Then week 3 was totally open, as was week 4. That was fine with me becasue I had booked enough work already to make my goal. BUT, in week two, week 3 filled up totally and I am turning down offers for week 3 or asking if the due dates can be moved to later in the month. Had to tell scheduler for a big bonus apartment shop that unless she could get me the work schedule for all of week 4 for the target, I could not take the shop, which she had also offered once a week for the last 3 weeks, but I could not get it in as things filled up. Weird! Week 4 is still empty, but probably all hell will break loose soon for that. Sure could have used some of these shops back in August, but I'm not complaining.

Well considering my life expectancy is like a negative four years, I'd say I'm doing pretty good. lol I told the doctors that they no longer get to say when I'm going to die. So if God gets me up on this side of the dirt, I go to work most days. Going to try to go to the conference in Vegas so may see some of you there.

Wow October is really picking up for me. Thought in the beginning of the month it was going to be slow but the jobs keep rolling in. I am booked up until the last week of the month.
Did my first M&M World shop! Think someone flaked and I got lucky, LOL. What fun I had! It was very, very enjoyable.
I built up enough funds and strategically placed those "take a long time to pay" companies so that I would get money in October and took most of the month off!!!

YIPPPEEEEEE!!! I love the Fall in New England...

O.o o.O

Happily shopping New England and beyond!!!!!
I know we are talking about October but we are half way through the month... Anyone booking for November yet?

I looked at my calendar yesterday morning and realized that I have only had two days off this month, the remaining days are all booked up. The first week of November is almost booked solid.

I am having a productive October, over a year into this gig and still learning and making mistakes. My hard work over the summer is now really plumping my bank and PayPal acts whice motivates me each week. I am doing this to supplement a part time job and fund a new business but can totally see how hard working, well planned shopers can make the illusive $1,500 a month.

October is probably going to turn out to be the best month I've had since I've been doing this over the past few years. I've picked up a few well paying shops which will really boost the income level. And that's good since I still haven't sold my house and am supporting both the house and my apartment! Based on this latter problem I intend to start being more aggressive about taking on shops which includes doing the $15 cell phone shops that I got sick of and stopped doing for a while. When you need the money you will do things you do not want to do or like, right?
Let's see
-2 Video Apartment Shops
-3 Fine Dining
-8 Gas Station Audits
-1 Mobile Store
-1 Retail Store
-1 Credit Card Audit
-3 High End Luxury Makeup
-2 Nursing Homes
-7 Merchandising
-1 Testing Center

and so it goes. It's been a decent month for me considering that I'm a full time student. A major mess up on a shop is leaving me somewhat depressed. Waiting to hear back from the scheduler as to whether they will accept the blooper or not. Did not follow the guidelines to the T...we will see how it goes.
Since my previous post on 10/6, I've added 2 sporting goods, 1 hardware, 1 fast food, 2 gas station, 2 banks, and 1 of the short phone audits (which, I conveniently waited long enough for to get at the same price as the full audit!!). This is only my 2nd full month of mystery shopping, so I'm still pretty happy with how things are progressing smiling smiley
Busy, busy, busy! Three steak houses a week, four sub shops a week, two bar visits a week, and three grocery stores a week. An oil change, and five sporting goods stores. Can't complain. getting those certifications is the best thing that ever happened to me.

I saw a testing site in my area, did you jhave to pay for testing services and how long did it take you to do the test. Still fairly new here and testing the waters.

As of 10/06, you were only at "100 and counting"? Amateur. tongue sticking out smiley

(heart)

I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
My goal every month is $800 per month and 17 days into October and im already over $1000.
Slow for me, but it's because . . . I MOVED TO MONTANA!!!! WHEEEEE . . . . . OK, I'm done now. Still very excited though. I have landed in Laurel, just outside of Billings. I've been here a week and have completed 2 shops, a mattress shop and a plumbing showroom. In the next few weeks I have two banks, 2 new car, and 3 cell phone shops and looking for more. Unfortunately I can't take any shops that require a purchase cause I'm flat broke!! But that's OK. That will change. None of my shops are more than 20 miles away, YAY!! I am looking forward to doing some long route shops so I can sightsee, but they will have to wait for now.

Better pick up for me though, I need as many as I can get!!

<doin' the happy dance!!>
