Guess what they forgot on my Red Robin shop tonight?

They actually forgot to put the hamburger in the burger.

Not kidding!

I didn't notice at first, because I got that Whiskey River BBQ one that comes with the piles of 'onion straws'. I took a bite, and didn't notice any beef. I thought maybe it'd been put together crooked, and tried one more bite. Still no beef.

So I took the 'lid' off, and sure enough, NO BEEF!!

The waitress was back in a bit for the status check... she was stunned! She took it back and said she'd yell at the guys in the kitchen. We were seated where we could see the expediting area and part of the kitchen. She did indeed appear to be chewing them out. Soon several servers were gathered around, it seemed to be quite the big deal. Some of them were laughing and teasing the kitchen guys. My server pointed out our table to everyone, as they were all glancing over and trying not to be obvious.

I had a new burger in about three minutes. A few minutes later, the manager came over to apologize, saying she couldn't believe such a crazy mistake had happened.

Since I didn't act all pissed off, nothing was comped or no free dessert or anything. Heh.

But I really wasn't pissed off ~ actually, I thought it was pretty damned funny! I mean, RED ROBIN forgot to put the hamburger in the burger?! Really?! smiling smiley

And... of all the people for them to make a mistake like that with! HA!!

However... now I suppose I might be considered 'memorable'... so far as returning as a shopper... *sigh*... I guess I'l find out. smiling smiley

Did you use the voice like that old lady from the Wendy's commercial - WHERE'S THE BEEF?

Kim
Nope. You can't shop them any more since you're far too memorable now. I guess I'll have to pick up your slack.
I LOVE Red Robins. I always wanted to try one because I'd see the commercials on TV in FL but there weren't any in my area. I had to wait to more to OR to try one and that was the first sandwich I had - the Whiskey River BBQ. I was hooked at first bite.

RRREDDD ROBIN- YUM!

Can't say they've ever forgotten the burger in my hamburger! Worst that's happened to me is that they've forgotten my bacon.

I would have to say that's pretty bad. No one messes with my bacon!!! lol

They brought me a little plate of bacon rather than remaking my burger, and all was right with the world again. smiling smiley

I'd love to do a Red Robin but have not found an MSC in my area that shops them. And I think I've signed up with all the MSCs as anytime I see a new one I immediately sign on.
A quick Google search should reveal at least two of the MSCs who shop Red Robin, although I'm not sure about your region.

The harder I work, the luckier I get.
The weird thing is, this MSC only does the location 30 minute to the South. I've yet to find the one that's like 10 minute away from my house. :/

But... it's a nice 30 minute drive. smiling smiley

I had an amazing Red Robin, and then a meh Red Robin. Think I'm not going back for the price.
thought I was signed up with most companies - but no Red Robin shops. I will have to add to my list.
The ones here, you have to bring someone under 10 years old or under 15 or the latest, over 20 years old...

Did you guys have to do that special kind or just the regular shop?

I wish they would just have the normal shop...smiling smiley
The one I did just said minimum two people required. If I could remember what the platform they used was called, I would say that. I just can't think of it! Not Sassie, not Prophet.

I'd been with this MSC for a while, but didn't start seeing these until about a year ago. And, odd thing is, they only do that one 30 minutes away, not the one just down the street and around the corner. So, must be by franchisee? Are Red Robins franchises in the first place?

I assure you that I am NOT slipping the MSC in here, but the reporting platform used by the MSC is the same as Measure and ACE and About Face use. Whatever that's called. But again ~ none of those are the MSC. smiling smiley

Those type of shops are fun shops and what nieces and nephews are for. Although I did one shop with a kid and they asked me if at the table if the manager pays for my meal. (My sister shops alkso and told her kids). Luckily nobody heard him.
This Red Robin is shopped by a BIG mystery shopping companysmiling smiley

It sounds like multiple companies are shopping them..

For the record, this is the first time in 4 years, the BIG company has been shopping them...from what I remember...

I've seen the big company shop them for a couple of years, but I haven't seen them listed in about 8 months. They go pretty fast, so maybe I've just missed them lately though. Plus, the big company's job board seems messed up since they tried to "improve" it a while back.

But seriously Storm, I can't believe the manager didn't comp your meal. She should have been mortified for that to have happened. Whether the customer gets upset or not should not matter.

Doesn't it make you wonder what else the kitchen forgets to add or what might accidentally get added to other orders?

I love Red Robin and their Hawaiian burger w/the teriyaki sauce and pineapple. When I first retired I decided I would sign up with all the local companies to see what kind of goodies I got for my birthday. Red Robin and IHOP are the only two major companies that really truly provide a birthday gift. In fact I went to get my birthday burger and ordered a Gourmet burger in lieu of the one on my coupon. I told my server that I would pay the difference. The manager came to provide me with my bill and he actually substituted and gave me the Gourmet burger and did not charge me any extra. Too bad I wasn't shopping the location as I would have given him a star rating for customer service.

IHOP gives a free breakfast for your birthday and also the anniversary date of your sign up.

I get really annoyed at the companies who send you a coupon and tell you in order to get your birthday meal you have to bring someone with you. I refuse to do that. A gift should have no strings attached.
