Ever gone to the client?

I am having horribly luck with shop angels these days...(note to self, do not accept their shops going forward). I am tempted to contact the client that i did shops for and professing my sincere disappointment in how they treat their shoppers (lack of payment). I am just curious...has anyone ever gone to the client and reported foul play by a MSC...especially when it comes to payment?

I haven't taken any action yet, but i am sincerely considering.

Going to the Client is an action of last resort. If all other options have been exhausted - Do So!
I have used this as a method of last resort and received my money. (Not the same company)

I'm still learning 24/7.
As Mr. C said, that is absolutely an action of last resort. Before taking it, I would advise a thorough self-examination with a hyper-critical eye and ask the following question: "Did I absolutely provide the MSC with everything the client ordered in the shop?" And be very critical and objective in answering that question. If you decide to pursue contacting the client, be aware that by doing so, you may possibly burn more than just the bridge with that one MSC...there are many schedulers and other MSC employees on this board.

No. I have never contacted the client.

Re Shop Angels, I perform one or two assignments each month and have not had difficulty getting paid. I get paid every month. My most recent payments from them via PayPal have been 10/9, 9/14, 8/14, and 7/2/2014. What payment problem are you having?
The system shows that i should be paid, however I have not. Last time i did a round of shops the payment was extensively delayed too. After the first time, i gave them the benefit of the doubt and did 2 more, but this is just ridiculous.

I have not gone to the client, but the thought definitely crossed my mind. I just got thinking and was wondering who had done it and how often.

The statements in Shopmetrics actually show up 3-4 weeks before payment is made. I've noticed this with other MSCs that use Shopmetrics like Measure Consumer Perspectives. Is the statement what you are seeing that shows you should have been paid? When were the shops completed that you have not been paid for?

And the other half of the equation, is the payment still within the time limit according to the ICA you signed?

Since the MSC did not pay, I assume a coutnersuit would be proper smiling smiley

I recovered about 1/3rd of my losses from Freeman by going to the client.

Good Comments! Again, this is a measure of last resort. If you contract to do a job, and it is accepted/reported to the client, wait according to the payment terms. If they avoid you well after you should have been paid - Go For It...

I don't think I would go to the client unless I was owed more than $200 in shoppers fees. I would, however, never accept nor apply for another assignment with the MSC! Going to the client can jump up and bite you in butt.
Have you checked to make sure Shop Angels has your SSN/EIN on file? Some MSCs won't pay without it, even after you have done shops for them. I had this happen to me with Shared Insight and as soon as I entered my SSN in my profile I was paid.
