kimmiemae,

Never did the Redbox shop myself with the former msc a few years back, but it required taking pics of the dvd machine.
They wanted to know the condition of the machine and possibly about the placement of it in the store if I remember correctly.
Forgot what else the shop required...not sure if you actually had to rent a dvd to test the machine or not...
Redbox has a customer service phone line and they are excellent. Once the wrong movie spit out and it only took a couple of minutes for me to get a live person who cheerfully provided me a code to use to get the correct flick.

Thanks for the reply. That makes sense.

Kim
I used to do RedBox shops where I checked inventory of selected movies by pretending to rent them. Then I had to assess the cleanliness and assessbility. I got thrown out of an Acme supermarket once because the manager told me that an authorization letter from RedBox was not an authorization letter from Acme and he did not have to honor it. I went outside the store, and pictures of the back of the two RedBox kiosks (they were inside the store). I was seen. I was driving out of the parking lot as the the police were driving in. I also did a few Blockbuster rental machines before they went belly-up (at least in this area). And actual brick and mortar Blockbuster stores before they all closed.
