Five Guys . . .milkshakes?!?!

Oh goodness, I just saw that they now have milkshakes on the Jan boards. So now pretty much a meal at Five Guys will now consist of 2000 calories. (They have bacon as one of their mixins) . . .First one I'm going to try is salted caramel, oreo, bacon. Why not.

You notice they NOW pay for the milkshake (if you really drink it at the location) your soda AND your burger. I have one and can't wait smiling smiley They give free samples to drive my taste buds insane...

I can order a milkshake at my shop tomorrow, but I have to pay for it...not included in the reimbursement.

The two Five Guys in my area don't have milkshakes. Yet. I'll be perfectly happy if they never offer them!
I have the opposite opinion of payment. $11 does not cover a burger with no cheese, little fries and a small drink. It cost me $12.43 at a recent tourist mall location.

I checked the online ordering website for the closest 10 locations and none showed an option for shakes.

Perhaps they are going to roll this out to all the stores next year. Can you check and see if it is on the online ordering page for the location you have that sells shakes?
I see some milkshake shops for my local 5G for next year so apparently they're rolling them out here. Have never seen them before.

I have tried their milkshakes and personally don't like them and would prefer not to order them. Way too thin and really expensive for what you get, IMHO. Definitely not worth the calories.
Their shakes are excellent for FREE. About the size of an Arches small shake for $4.50. Several in my area already have them and EVERY location in my area has reimbursement listed starting 1/1. Apparently between now and 1/1 EVERY location is having a shake machine installed. IMO, it's just another giveaway if you are doing the shop alone. Silly that if you order a shake you still have to order a fountain drink.

I saw that in the shop instructions.
If this don't scream shopper, I don't know what will.
No *NORMAL* person orders both a shake and a soda.

I think I'm going to pass on the shake unless I take a highly bonused shop way on the other end of the metro area that I won't go back to until the next time they call me and offer good money. I never say no, I just give them my "I really don't want to do it price." They have surprised me several times and accepted it.

On these milkshake shops, are we still allowed to order the other entrees besides burgers?

I'll take it, "ALL THE WAY".

I can't even imagine what color that would end up being with all the toppings in there including the bacon. spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

The new shake instructions say to order sandwich of your choice, fountain drink, shake and fries. (If you choose to order a shake).

I can imagine they may do a required shake order for a future shop, to get the new shakes out there.. smiling smiley

Thank you. As long as they don't mandate that I order and taste a bacon-flavored milkshake, this sounds like a great shop, then.
They sound good I like 5 guys but don't work for the MSC who shops them. I will get one on my next trip to 5 guys.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I could see bacon if the shake was chocolate. Until you've tried chocolate covered bacon, don't knock it.

My mom made some chocolate chip bacon cookies last year that were spectacular.

I noticed that change in the Five Guys paperwork, and also that for two shops I still have in December, the website pulls up the January 2015 paperwork. I asked the MSC and they said to go with the paperwork provided.

Also, one of the shops I picked up for January has the time frame of 11:15AM-9:45PM - basically all day. I wonder if that would preclude me from doing any other Five Guys that day. Will have to ask the MSC. It's funny because new shops for January show the usual lunch/dinner/late dinner times.

From past experiences with the MSC's Helpdesk, I was told that all food shops should be spaced at least four hours between shops if a shop is pretty wide open in terms of time frame.

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
I'm going to do a milkshake shop on Jan 2. One way to order (is this allowed?) is to order the burger, fries and fountain beverage, then go back to the counter later for the shake. This way the shake is like dessert.
Back to the Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies. I have been wanting to try a recipe. Do they need to be refrigerated? It may be moot since there probably wouldn't be any left within an hour of bakingsmiling smiley

I can't believe no one has pointed out that they LOWERED the shop fee to $6 for the dinner shops now as well as for the lunch shops.

Those extra calories from the milkshakes are also costing you $$ in shop fees.

Nope. My mom made them for Thanksgiving and they lasted at least from Wednesday to Sunday non-fridged.

I am sure the pre-acceptance questionnaire would say something like:

"Do you agree to purchase and drink the milk-shake and acknowledge it is required to order a shake during this shop?" smiling smiley
Bacon chocolate chip cookies?!? So if I have a recipe for regular chocolate chip cookies, do I just toss in some bacon bits when I add the chips? Or are there added steps? I'd love to try those out.
The ones my mom made used candied bacon? I dunno, there was a bunch to making the bacon for them. I think it was baked covered in brown sugar and then crumbled or something.
