Five Guys . . .milkshakes?!?!

I've seen recipes where the bacon wasn't candied which is much easier. I also found this Bourbon Bacon Chocolate Chunk Cookie. Now that's a cookie!

I've been told bacon milkshakes, bacon donuts and bacon chocolates are positively delicious, but I still can't talk my taste buds into thinking this could possibly be okay. I'll gladly drink a bacon-free shake, though!
This is the recipe I use for candied bacon [allrecipes.com]
I cook it, let it cool, crumble it and then add it to the recipe on the Toll House Chocolate Chip Morsel bag. It's good stuff!
People need to let the $6 shops sit on the board. If everyone would stick it out till it was at least $10, they would have no choice but to pay that. The $11 reimbursement does not cover a soda, little fies, and a regular hamburger and falls short by $1.50 now. I mentally subtract that from the job fee. So this would be a $4.50 shop the way I see it.

I won't pick up the phone for a phone shop for $4.50, much less turn the car key. It's the shoppers fault they are lowering the rates as new shoppers keep grabbing them up at a loss.
For the bacon chocolate chip cookies, I would use bacon bits if you were not going to keep them refrigerated. If they were going to be kept cold, then I would use real bacon, dice it and fry it, then mix in with the dough.

At my 5 Guys shop this past Sunday, the shake equipment wasn't there yet...or at least not installed if they had received it.

The recipes I could find were all for real bacon. At least one said they could be held at room temperature for something like five days.

Agreed that the shop fee should be higher. But as far as the reimbursement goes, I order a little burger, which together with the little fries and regular soda is more than enough for me, and the total is $10.93. So the $11.00 reimbursement is fine in my case.

The highest shop fee I've seen on this is $9.00, and that was for a late night near closing time assignment. Never did one because I don't want to eat at 9:30 p.m. or whatever time it is.

As I've hooked up with more MSCs I do fewer of these shops - now it's about once a month, when I'm in the mood for a good burger & fries instead of my slightly "healthier" normal fare.
Hi all, I am wondering if someone cam confirm for me that the "up to $5" reimbursement for the shake is in addition to the regular "up to $11" food reimbursement. They are listed separately so I am a tad confused. Thanks for any help!
That is how I read the shop instructions. I also found a link where it shows which 5 Guys have the milkshakes.

You list the soda, sandwich and fries on "total" then you add the shake price on another line. smiling smiley
Thanks for the info mnarteach and SunnyDays2! I didn't want to sign up for the shop and find out I had to buy all that food and only get paid $11.

I don't see that anyone answered this... Does anyone know?

I have two of these shops next week and would like to order this way, if they allow it. Seems more natural, like what a "real" customer would do.

I can see it now. Shop rejected because you put a shop completion time of less than 15 minutes from the shake receipt time, effectively restarting the shop timer from the second purchase.

If they leave the shake on there, I'm going to really need to limit myself to two a month.

Who's really not going to finish a bacon and chocolate shake?
It was hard enough to trash half the fries.
I bring the fries home and freeze them. My husband uses them with other meals. An employee actually told me how to freeze them and reheat them. He was rather excited about the fries.

I didn't think of that, but it's a very good point. This MSC is definitely a stickler for their timings. Maybe I'll pay for the full order when I arrive, but ask the cashier to hold off on making the shake until I'm finished with my meal.

No. They guarantee that if you purchase and "drink" the shake at the location, you will be paid for the shake, along with the drink, sandwich and fries smiling smiley

How will you fill out the time waited for food preparation then?

Add up the wait time for both orders?

Better yet, put the time from the first order till you receive the milkshake after you ate. eye rolling smiley
Personally, I figured this was a gimmick to try and convince people to take the shops, even though they dropped the price.

I really fear I am about done with Five Guys ... they just raised their prices again here within the last month, and the MSP just dropped the pay by a dollar. I was willing to try one shop at this price, just to try the shake, but there were no shakes available.

So I guess no more Five Guys for me.

Why do they have to play games?
I never take a Five Guys shop on the board or by email. I always wait for the phone call. I average a $14 fee that way [above and beyond the reimbursement]. My highest fee for a Five Guys this year was $40 on Black Friday.

Last year I got a call and agreed to a $30 fee. The scheduler must have misunderstood me and upped it to $50. smiling smiley

so what is the secret to freezing them please?
Did I mention I drank half the shake, put it in my car and unbeknownst to me, it tipped over and fell deep into the crevice of my gear shift tongue sticking out smiley?

It had a big hole where most tops are tight around the straw...
I just did an odd guys shop where if they had milkshakes I could get one. However they do not have them there. I get to the question on the shop form and it asks why I didn't order one. There is a long list to choose from and I chose I didn't know they had milkshakes at the location. Now I'm thinking I should have chosen other. They don't have milkshakes at the location I was at today. What should I do? Email the help desk and let them know???
Yes! Email the Help Desk so they can make note of it with your report.

The exact same thing happened to me. I chose "other" but it never asked what "other" was? I would have said they did not sell milk shakes at that location....... They are gearing up to have shake machines in most locations (but the machines are $$$$$) but this question is going to stay I believe...
Secret to freezing the fries: spread them out on a cookie sheet and freeze. Bag them up. Reheat them in a toaster oven. This is what the enthusiastic guy at our new 5 guys said. It works. My husband has fries for any meal he chooses. LOL. I guess that is a good thing.
Lame. I've recently shopped four locations in my area. Only one of those four offer milkshakes so far.

Damn.... This is genius. Now I can spread my fries out instead of eating all of them at once!

Still no milkshakes available in my usual 5 guys. Have been looking forward to the bacon!
