About My First Invalid Shop

Since the client has been mentioned beaucoup times, mentioning a MSC is not allowed.

I recently missed the note for a shop that said photos were required for the required food items. I get an email from the editor asking for the pictures. Thankfully this $100 meal did not have to be redone. I ALWAYS take pictures of all food - even if I am not shopping. I went back and re-read the instructions for the shop. Maybe I am stupid but I STILL did not see where pictures were required. But you are can be sure of one thing, if something is amiss or if I have eaten in your restaurant, I have pictures!
How did the client know you pressed the red button or asked for the receipt when you got out of the car? I didn't get a business card on my last shop and plan to go back and get one. Will this be my demise?
If you re-read the guidelines and the requirement still wasn't there why do you still say you missed the note? Apparently the MSC forgot to put it in the guidelines or the editor had it mixed up with another shop.

My question was for shopit. Lorrie and I cross posted.

For the picture of the meal at the restaurant that wasn't in the instructions was there a place to upload it in the report? Or was it the MSC that wants all the pictures after you fill out the shop and if they are to large their system chokes on it?

>My mistake. I am out the $12 fee, the time to report, the time spent driving to this out-of-the-way location, and the cost of the >meal ($5). And it was my fault.

My first denied shop was because I didn't prompt the associate about the camera stabilization feature.
My second denied shop was because I used the wrong scenario.
Both my fault. The first one I rushed through. The second one I used the wrong paint shop questionnaire. That is when I really started double checking the paperwork for the address. The 3rd denied if it is, is the one I had earlier done today, I guess yesterday now. That's the danger of meeting everyone in the bank, they may be at the shop that you do later.

The MSC has a place for receipts and photos - you tag them with the specifics. Their system handles everything I have ever uploaded. I was uploading photos to their system well before they asked for them when I saw something that was wrong on a shop. I have gotten emails from editors telling me the photos were not required many times. Well, I learned a lesson before it became one. Photograph everything!
I've just completed my first Sonic shop. I've been extensively mystery shopping for 7 months, and a total of 3 years.

My first invalidated shop was a retail. I got the information the client wanted, but used my rewards card. It could have been avoided by me in the first place. Secondly, I did get the information desired by the client, but did not alert my scheduler ahead of time to intervene. So my report was rejected. So I had sufficient fault in the matter to let it go.

The second reject was a phone shop in which I spent 9 minutes on the call, but the call dropped. The MSC is notoriously difficult to contact via email or phone unless they want something. The only thing I missed was the good bye. So I submitted the report. When they asked for clarification, I explained what occurred. They rejected it because I did not call back.

With maybe two or three exceptions, instructions for mystery shops are horribly written. They need skilled secondary teachers to re-write them in understandable terms. As I was one once, I rewrite my instructions in comprehensible form so that I am not overwhelmed or confused.

It is time-consuming but reviewing the instructions beforehand helps. I get myself into re dos when I don't.

Do not read so much, look about you and think of what you see there.

Ya, I have had invalid shops. Once it seemed u cd order any side u wanted, but it turned out it was only french fries. I think everyone makes mistakes. When I first started I kept forgetting to get receipts. I had to put a big "R" on my dashboard. Once I threw away the bag that had the receipt on it, and had to go back and dig through their garbage. I rarely forget now, but just last week I did a drive-thru and it was supposed to be a dine in. I bit the bullet, since I still had time, and redid the shop. Grrr..hated that, but I do the best I can. I am pretty old, and need the money, so I get nervous a lot (not as much now, as when I first started, but..) that I am doing everything right. Good thing I usually do. Um..knock wood..

Must have been tired when I wrote the first reply. I never see Sonic in the MSC that I was talking about, it's cell phones and banks and the yellow gas stations. Since I shop in the heart of Sonic country, i'm sure I would have seen one by now.
Hey,
I am so glad I am not the only one who was struggling. Ha. Thanks for your post and don't quit. I am going to Mattress Firm tomorrow, and had a dud first at Mattress Firm, so we will see how this goes. Remember to charge my phone and save my picures!! Thanks for listening. Good luck. :-) J
