Within a certain mileage requirement

This is getting on my last nerve. Shops requiring that I live within a specific mile range. I'm on the cusp of being within 20 miles of anything. I certainly do not live within the 20 miles that companies want. Even if they take my zip code to the closest shop it's still past 20 miles. So why do they send me the email? Their computer database should automatically disqualify me.

And while I'm on my what I beginning to realize is an unreasonable rant. Why can't schedulers understand that in the
state of TX, 100 miles can be considered a hop, skip and a jump? I know most schedulers aren't from TX, but shouldn't they listen to the shopper? I can and have pulled off $300 days on my long routes. My long routes are anywhere from 200 to 400 miles.

I'm relatively new at this. I have some fabulous schedulers. Now, I need to find a few that understand the fact if I'm to make any money, I must drive long distances.

And also, I'm an old chick and can't find a decent job, even with a MBA.

Love to say sorry for my rant, but honestly I'm not.

I love this new career and I really want it to be worth my time and attention.

And another 5 emails for the same exact shop that I don't live within the required mileage.

I'm going to take a wild guess here and suggest you sign up with lots more companies. I've been shopping for over two years and 90% of the shops I've done are 100+ miles away. There have only been two I've found that want me to live near them -- one that does bank shops and one that reviews medical offices.

Everyone else is only concerned that I'm willing to do the drive and can get the report in on time.

I get emails wanting me to shop on the other side of the country all the time. I ignore them.

Time to build a bigger bridge.

It's the same way in Maine 400-500 miles is a route up here. and 1 to 2 hours is a skip.

Thank you, my life is slightly back in perspective.

What shops are requiring you to live within 20 miles? Cable company? Carpet cleaning? The majority of my shops don't have a limit.

Where I live, I could do 90% of my shops within 15 miles. I travel a lot though and don't do a ton locally.
I live in the country and in Texas. The closest grocery store that has prices slightly less than a convenience store is at least 23 miles away.

The shops requiring the 20 or less mile limits are banks. One branch is over 30 miles and the other is over 50 miles away. It wouldn't bother me but the scheduling company is using 4 schedulers to send out the emails. Then they send around 5 as an average for each scheduler.

I get schedulers have to fill the shops. It's only my opinion, but I think if schedulers would utilize parameters they might fill the shops faster and get qualified shoppers as well.

How about multiple emails every day for a Spanish speaking phone shop. I don't speak spanish I don't have that listed on my profile that speak Spanish. More than one email is waste and make it more likely the email program will mark the sender as a spammer.
I have a filter on my emails so all the Spanish-speaking only and death shops go directly to SPAM.

Is this for MF? I got an email the other day offering me a shop within a 20-mile round trip radius from my house with a $13.00 bonus. I looked at the address and knew immediately that the mileage was WAY off. I looked it up on both MapQuest and Google Maps and it was actually just under 53 miles round trip.

I counter-offered with a $20.00 bonus. I have not heard a peep back. Instead, I was able to pick up three $18.00 per bonused shops for a little longer distance in a different direction.

The problem I have is northern Arizona is mountainous. I am within 50 miles of Cave Creek -- but there is a mountain between us. I'm not a crow. If I go by road it's about 120 miles to Cave Creek. But certain MSC's try to bundle Cave creek shops with my local shops into package deals because they're within a 50 mile "radius".

Time to build a bigger bridge.
I shopped a grocery store today that I could have walked to and have another sub shop next week that I will walk to. This is why we larger market shoppers can't get the big bonuses you people out in the middle of nowhere can demand and get. If I don't take a shop for base pay, it may go up $2 and I might even get an email for $3 more.

Even when the phone calls come around, if I ask for $16 they will tell me they will call me back within the hour if they can't get it filled for less. They don't call back half the time and its a mutual win, as I would not go to a shop 8 miles away in this metro area for less than that.
OP -
I've driven 300+ miles in a day many times, for at least a half dozen MSCs for bank shops. None required the provision of ID, so I had an address near each branch ready to state if asked.
Could you simply ask a scheduler if that would be permissible?
I've never seen that 20-mile radius requirement at all.

It has been discussed elsewhere on the forum that the 20-mile radius was imposed by the client.

Is it truly that you have to be with 20 miles or is it a Sassieshop scheduling system that is automatically set to 20 miles? Personally, I always immediately change that to 77 to see what is really available.

It is the default for Sassiehop. Besides adjusting the miles, I also click the box that says "Shops I Can Apply for:" It saves time by eliminating a lot of things that are not available to me, usually because of the time rotation.
