I was definately memorable at McD's today

I did the dining room part first. I was not given a receipt, and when I asked for one, the cashier could not get one to print. Two more employees got involved and could not figure out the problem. This was the only register open. My food was on the tray and they were still trying to print out a receipt for a $4 meal. I stood there for 7 minutes, and the line is starting to back up. Finally they print the receipt from a different register. Yep, that doesn't scream "mystery shopper," does it? winking smiley

I finish the dining room and do the drive-thru. The line is long. I get to the window and am told that they are waiting for the hash brown to cook, and ask me to pull forward. Three minutes later an employee comes out to give me my bag...and it's the same cashier who took my order in the dining room.

Wait three months and there will be a new crew who will have the same problems printing you a receipt. smiling smiley
The things we do, I am still laughing, but only because something similar happened to me, but not on as big of a scale as yours. The next time will hopefully be better.
I did one where the restaurant ran out of printer paper. They could not print from the front register or drive-thru. I explained it on the report and was paid, after a couple of clarifications.

LOL. I know the feeling.

Last night, the frozen yogurt could not be weighed as the scale kept on registering zero. The register konked out as well. Fortunately for me, there were no other customers. The lone staff had to come out of the counter to fix the scale. She also had to fix the register. The transaction was timed to the second.

With all the excitement, I had to go back to get my receipt. Going back meant walking, slipping or skating again in the slush/snow/ice combination that was evident in the sidewalks and the streets, while the frozen yogurt was freezing my veins. Now I have a pair of ruined boots that simply would not be compensated by the measly fee and reimbursement. But at least I got to savour the Maple Nut Fudge and red velvet cupcake with mochi and strawberry toppings as well as added an inch to my waistline.
I had a breakfast McD shop this morning. No customers, and one lone cashier. The cashier was very slow, in fact it was more than a minute before he looked up from the register to acknowledged me. It wasn't long into the ordering process that I felt that he might be a special needs person. I haven't done my report yet. What if I'm wrong, and he's not special needs. He was kind and sweet. I appreciated - very much - that the company would hire special needs people. I sent an e-mail to [deleted] to see if I could get an opinion on what to put into the report. It's all about the timing, but what if there is a very good reason for failed timing, but what if I'm wrong?
I would have to wonder if McDonald's would have a special needs individual running a register. Most businesses I've been at that hire special needs individuals won't put them at the registers. Still this could be an exception.

I would probably report what happened and state something like, "I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt."

Also, please remove your reference to the MSC in your post. It's not only a violation of your ICA, but also of the forum rules.

Mr Bond,

Thank you for your comments.

You'd think someone who has read a forum post or two wouldn't make a rookie mistake like putting both MSC and client in the same post/thread. Oh well, can I just claim to be moving on in years, and I messed up?
I would report the shop as it happened. If the cashier was special needs then the location will be aware of that and (hopefully) react accordingly. If he isn't, then once again the location can deal with it appropriately.
Funny story, but in general I think these employees see so many people each day that they forget most of them in 3 seconds.
There is a 5 Guys I frequent that has a special needs person that was only seen in the dining room for a long time. Now he's doing good behind the register. I don't think they will let him touch anything in the kitchen. He was clearing the table while your still sitting there and offering refills before they finally let him behind the counter at all.

That location was always spotless and well stocked. Special needs employees take pride in work that others would think is beneath them.
I did aa arches shop once where I was sure they would remember me. I dined inside first, then did the drive thru, where the same person gave me my order both times. He commented, "Didn't I just see you inside?" Then I realized my timing device had failed, and I had to go back thru the drive thru. I casually said I had gotten a phone call from home to bring more food.

I immediately called the MSC, and was told that it "wasn't any of their business" why I ordered three times total, and to report the shop as I normally would. I was paid without issue.

I thought is was only a violation if you mentioned both the client (mickey d) and the MSC that sent you there in the same post, or did the poster mention the client where it said (deleted)?
Yes

I am glad to see special needs folks at a register. The sad part is when the public thinks they cannot do they job and give them a hard time. They are working!
