I wanted so bad to cry,,,,

I just attempted an audit. After 5.5 hours, the battery in my tablet died and I had not even finished two sections. I logged out, and sent a message to the scheduler-I will finish it if they let me. I have another one scheduled for tomorrow. Lesson has been learned on this one. The company has scheduled calls and a hotline to help shoppers, but when I read through the instructions they seemed straight forward and easy. I am not bashing the company, because they are doing what they can to help with issues, but today seriously had me thinking I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I am fairly sure that tears are NOT in the job description. I had the paper copy, but there is no way another hour and a half was going to get it done. I feel rotten for the scheduler, but I was considering the ramifications of my first "on purpose" flake! Hopefully, I can go back to redeem myself (or completely go down in flames)!!!! Ok I feel better now. Thanks for the ears,,,,,,

Why in the world would you refer to yourself as a flake? Equipment failure is just that and happens to everyone. Ask any video shopper. We are not considered flakes if our cameras develop shorts or our SD cards become corrupted. File it under s--- happens.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
LisaSTL is right. You are not a flake. And I'm betting almost every shopper has had at least one really rotten day and shop. It will get better and some day you can look back and laugh about it.
Must say, I am finishing the phone call, and the MSP has cleared up a lot of things for me. Pulling up my straps to get this thing done tomorrow. I asked a few questions and listened to a lot of other questions and answers. I feel much better and ready for tomorrow.. It's gonna be a great day!!!!
I will say it out loud...LisaSTL, there are days when you rock my world. You always seem to give sage advice and do it in an encouraging uplifting manner.

To the OP; my car wasn't 7 months old and decided to go bonkers in the middle of the south oil fields of TX last August. I drove myself the safest place I could find, called for a tow truck and then contacted my scheduler. I still had 6 shops left and it was the end of the month. We kept in touch and I completed the shops on time for her month. Barring one shop I ended up with perfect scores.

Stuff happens! Equipment dying is not flaking. You did the correct thing by contacting your scheduler. My favorite schedulers only ask that if something happens I let them know as soon as I possibly can without endangering my life.

I love posts like this; reminds me that we're all in this to help eachother out smiling smiley

I don't particularly like those audits that you mention; but they're not the worst things in the world either once you're used to them (as you know...)

However, the company has been great and extremely helpful. I've been sick and they had no problems rescheduling my audits for me, no judgement, and really nice. They also pay fast.

Should be smooth sailing once your tablet is back up. Once you've done a few, they become pretty logical smiling smiley.

Somewhere in the Midwest, shopping / auditing full time since 2014. Will use PV-500 for food! smiling smiley
jroby1,

As your scheduler on this assignment, I would definitely not refer to you as a flake. These assignments have a learning curve to them and I know you will be fine!

You're already off to a great start by staying in communication when difficulties arise. They get easier as you go.

Not scheduling for ANY company.
Don't be so hard on yourself. We all have a bad day. Lesson learnt. Thanks for sharing cause sometimes we overlook the little things and that way we all know what to avoid in the future.
