Having a citation removed.

Almost a year ago, when I was very new to shopping, I flaked on a shop and received a citation. I was unorganized and completely missed it in error. I have done many shops for the same scheduler and MSC since then. I recently asked the scheduler if they would remove the flake citation and pointed out that my reputation should speak for itself and that I was very new at the time - they refused. Have any of you run into the same thing?

Tamala embarrassing as it is to admit, I received a flake citation on my record in 2011. To this day I do not remember applying for or receiving the shop. I never saw the citation for over a year, when I attempted to log in to apply for a shop. When I apologized to the scheduler, she told me that I had an excellent rating and was qualified to conduct any of their jobs. Since the flake I have conducted 48 different shops for the company. It is still painful for me to see that flake citation every time I log into the site. At one time my tag line was, “Shopping since 1995 and never flaked on a shop.” Sadly that tag is retired. Your overall performance will speak to your reliability.
If you have an excellent track record and your record speaks for itself, don't worry about a citation that remains on your record since you first started. A citation from several years ago is simply a record of the past and I can understand the scheduler/MSC not wanting to alter the record. I wouldn't worry about it.
Thank goodness she gave me another chance and I have done handfuls of shops since then. I feel much better knowing that I am not the only one. I feel like such a loser every time I see it.
@Pooch5210: Good lord, isn't there an end date to flake citations? I mean, to be constantly reminded of a mistake you made four years previously, smacks a bit of overkill, don't you think?

I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
@ Stilllearning, just checked, the flake citation is still there. I was able to activate the Shopper Citations Hide button which hid the citation and note. Pushed the Shopper Citations Show button and it pops back. Maybe one day it will be removed. Until then, I will just keep it hidden.
The only bad citation I had, which I did not know I had, was for having three accounts, they said. I discovered that the MSC was under a number of names. I was really, really upset at that citation and asked them to remove my name from their D/Base.

A year later, I had a shop offer and I accepted it. I did not know it was one and the same MSC. They actually kept my record although I had never shopped for them before. I have been active from then on, with a 10 rating.

I see a Public Deactivation on my log but it has not stopped the editors from giving me 10s. I did not even see it before I clicked the 'Hide.' But if I keep on receiving evaluations that say "Terrific" and 'Can someone you know give us that type of report? I'll give you both a bonus." (Knock on wood.)---I guess I'll just swallow my pride. winking smiley
Speaking of flakes, it's snowing here now. whether the weather service knows it or not. Those are definitely flakes coming down. Really coming down. glad i didn't go to Phoenix today.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
Ironically enough, I just sent an e-mail to a scheduler today (and will give them a call tomorrow) about a similar situation. We'll see how it goes.

Somewhere in the Midwest, shopping / auditing full time since 2014. Will use PV-500 for food! smiling smiley

You should be a school crossing guard. Talking about flakes. School Crossing Guards see a lot of flakes. They are gods FROZEN people keeping children safe.
Admittedly, I have a flake citation for a MSC because I contacted them about needing to un-assign myself from a shop over eight years ago. I have a high score with them and have been shopping with them for years, but it still bothers the OCD in me when I see it. lol Eh, what are you going to do? Life happens.

I have a flake citation for a job that I did and did not enter in time. I offered to re-do it. She wouldn't have it. It sits next to the hero citation on the same log.
I have 856 shops with them. It's super ridiculous. It does not affect my ability to do their most premium, secret, off-board jobs either. Completely meaningless other than to the person who issued it, I'm sure.
Why would they remove a flake citation from your history? It is your history, and provides them a record of your performance. The fact that you have successfully completed many shops after that is ALSO your history and record! Should they remove some of your highest shops, too, after awhile? No, of course not!

Just toggle it off and you will not have to see it anymore!

Well in my case, I would say that there is a difference between flaking on a shop (i.e. blowing it off with no contact) and not being able to enter it fast enough and offering to re-do it. That's just me. Thanks for your opinion.
I agree that there is a difference between flaking on a shop and not entering it fast enough.

I think Chix's comment, which I thought very good, was intended to respond to the OP's question about whether others had requested that a citation be removed from their Records because of improved performance and been refused. I agree that a both a negative citation and a hero citation form a record of the way the MSC believes a shopper has peformed. It seems reasonable that neither a hero citation nor a negative citation would be removed.

It makes me think of a college transcript. All grades during a student's attendance with that college are recorded, good and bad. If a student makes some bad grades the first year, then improves massively, the bad grades still show on the transcript along with the good grades. The student's record is maintained, both good and bad. Grades are not removed.
I would compare the citation to Intellishop grades. I may get an 8 or 9 rating, but as long as I get paid...who cares? smiling smiley
I had an issue with BH before with a similar situation (except that I didn't flake but citation issued anyway). I never bothered to ask as I have been able to do many shops with them. I wish anyone going through this the best of luck but honestly if you are getting shops, I wouldn't bother. Your current rep is what speaks volumes. Everyone for some reason or another may have a misunderstand or fall ill and if the MSC doesn't get that then you know what to do...
