Has this happened to anyone? What would you do?

At the end of February, I received an email from an MSC offering some cell phone audits. One of them happened to be in the town next to me so I contacted the scheduler to inquire about it. It paid $15 and all of the pictures could be uploaded while in the store via the app. it sounded pretty good so I agreed to do it.

The scheduler sent me an email with the date to complete (February 25) which I did and submitted everything.

Anyway, I received an email and phone call from the scheduler stating that because I had completed the audit too early they were cancelling my shop.

Apparently this was supposed to be a part of the March audits but I had no way of knowing that.

I feel like I just got burned through no fault of my own. I do not know if this was a company or MSC mistake but I'm now feeling like I no longer want to do any work for this MSC.

Would you say something to the MSC?

This is the first time I've had something like this happen.

Thanks,

Heather

If you still have the email, I would forward it to the MSC, along with a polite request for payment as you followed the terms you were given.

Thanks James. I think I will do that. I keep all my emails so I still have the entire paper trail. smiling smiley
I haven't had this happen to me, but I would definitely say something about it to the MSC (politely). It sounds like you followed the guidelines and did the shop on the date that was given to you. As per your contract, you are to receive payment for the job completed according to the guidelines/scheduler's instructions. I hope you still have a copy of the email in which the scheduler gave you the completion date of February 25. I would use that as proof that you followed instructions. If everything else is okay with the shop, you should receive payment.

I wonder what everyone else thinks?
It happened to me once and I let it go. The shop was just half way through. My mistake was taking that shop again the next month. I think it was cursed. lol. But each time that scheduler made unprofessional move, I was ready to drop the MSC. And sure enough, the project was doomed. I had lost my patience and I asked to be removed from their list. I was paid for that shop but I had deactivated myself, just because of one scheduler. I simply did not see myself working with her any longer because I let my anger fester.

I received a very good advice from a friend. "When you are not happy with something or someone, deal with it right then and there, calmly. Don't let it add up and fester. That way you can move on soon."
