$6.50 for Circle K?

I was wondering about this. I've never done one, in fact I don't think I've worked for this MSC. Were they always this cheap? Is it the fastest shop in history or is that fee absurd?

Is it reasonable and I just don't know it? If it paid a little more I'd probably pick some up. I do like the idea of being able to get a lottery ticket reimbursed.

The only Circle K I did, was bonused $15.00, as it was far away. That was my one and only Circle K shopsmiling smiley

I think $6.50 is low. What all are you required to do?
Go in, buy a promotional item and a lottery ticket, evaluate the CS and the gas station, take a curbside of the gas station and pics of anything not working or not compliant. Typical stuff I guess.

Is any part of this a reveal? It has been 3 years since I did the Circle K store...
I don't see anything in the guidelines about a reveal. It could get weird taking pics.
The MSC that does circle K doesn't do reveals but you're pretty much revealing yourself by walking around taking pictures. It's silly that they actually think you're going to go unnoticed. It's absolutely not worth it at that price.

Seriously, nobody cares that you're offended.
The MSC has reveal shops, too. Yes, they have always been low paying. I have done them at the low rate and bonused. I only do them if I was passing some or out of town. They are super easy, though, and the report is simple. It is easy to take photos. If the lottery machine is down, you make a note of it on your report and are still paid.
No pics are required here unless there is a violation. No curbside photo required, if they have lottery. The most difficult part can be spending ten minutes. I have one local Circle K, no roller grill, no bathroom, the unit is about 10x20.
Oh, I have not done one in well over a year. I had to take a curbside shot, regardless. The guidelines must have changed. I think I had to purchase the lottery ticket and something else and get two separate receipts, I cannot remember. I do remember the attendant thinking it was petty for me to ask for the receipts. Circle K was geared toward the lottery and their other gas stations were more involved, whether reveal or unannounced shop.
The only thing I like about this MSC is that once you're doing a lot of volume for them (and I do mean a lot.. I think it's 100 shops a month), they pay extremely fast (biweekly or something)

I've never done any work for them, but may consider it at some point if I know I can get to that level, just to have a steady consistent payout from one MSC (if the jobs are fast enough)

The Circle K's here pay $10 and $3 reimbursement for a bottled drink. You have to take a full view of the property pic. There is also a signed quick inventory at the end of the shop. They are quick, and I really like them. Night Owl, at 1:47 pm.
Not worth $6.50. I had to take photos of pumps that were out of order (and there were 3 at this location), I had to count the number of hot dogs (27!!), buy a lottery ticket and a candy bar and see if the employee upsells. The hot dog case was 5 feet in front of the cashier. Counting 27 hot dogs just screamed either "mystery shopper!" or "Wacko!" to me.
@CoffeeQueen, you must have had a lot of coffee - you've liked basically every post on this thread! :]]

I feel uncomfortable taking pictures of menu boards undercover (think Krispy Kreme) where you have to get the entire menu board and if the pictures don't turn out, you don't get paid. How long can you sit in the drive-thru and take pics, especially if there is a line behind you? It makes me nervous.

I prefer a reveal/audit where you tell them you are going to get pictures of the menu boards and POP signage...smiling smiley
I think there are at least two companies that do Circle K. The one I do them for only requires a picture in the restroom if there is an issue and outside if there are issues. The only mandatory photo if everyone is okay on the visit is of the lottery ticket to confirm that date and time you were t the location. When the jobs come out, every 3-4 weeks, you might want to contact the scheduler and see if they will pay you more per location if you take more locations and make a mini route out of it.
The MSC I do CK for pays 12.50 plus reimbursement for a required store purchase. There is a revealed audit at the end, one pic capturing the site. Easy work. The manager of the location near me never acts different when I show up. Is always cooperative with the signed audit form.

Think burst mode as you're moving up to the menu board.
I do the audits for circle k not the mystery shops. I would say the shops would have to go up to $15 to be worth it. Ask the scheduler for what you need if he can do it he will do it.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.

I never do them now. The managers are either argumentative or they skeeve me out by hitting on me. Gross.
It used to be you could buy any lottery ticket. Now they specify which ones. Last I looked they were requiring the big national lotteries.
I liked buying the smaller pick 3 and such - the odds were better that the shop would be bonused ;-)

The lottery ticket serves as your POV. The guidelines said not to ask for a receipt.
They have you purchase specific items, usually something that is on special for two at a special price.
These shops go unfilled for a long time at the new rate around here.
I have done a few of these over the weekend and the company I do them are super easy. I spend less than ten minutes in the store and another ten minutes filling out the report. The only time there are photos required is when there are issues. Other than that the only picture I take is of the lottery ticket. True, they only pay $6, but they're easy and quick.

Making a living however I can.

They don't bonus now either. I have watched them going from $6 to $6.50 to $7 for a bonus when they need to get done. They used to go from $6 to $10 to $14.
The longer they sit, the higher they go. If you can do a bunch, 10, 20, 30 or so. Contact the scheduler and see if they will give you a higher per shop for a larger volume of shops taken.
I saw two get bonused recently up to 10.00 so I took them since I would be passing right by both of them. It was a quick easy shop. I got a 4.50 reimbursement too, which is a little more than usual.
