When we had my "collector error" situation, she also had to call to report what happened. After I gathered my stuff and was leaving she told me "I had to leave a message but I have to keep trying until I get through to them."
Sigh..... You'd think they would have had someone attending to that phone line or just call them back with, "No worries, we'll just send the driver new paperwork." There's probably some "correct" thing to do with the spoiled paperwork, like mailing it back or "please shred it." Odd that among just the few of us here who have done this shop, two had issues that required the shop to be aborted.
I have no idea what happened in my case but it was three weeks later when I went back to reshop it with new paperwork. I was glad not to see that particular collector there that day because I didn't want to hear about, "I kept calling for three days and they never called me back and nobody ever answered the phone." I had just told her I didn't have time to wait for my bladder to refill because I had to be at work in a half hour (which was true) and that I would call them to get new paperwork and come back later. I was even prepared with a back story in case I did get the same collector, that I had to go out of town suddenly when my brother was in an accident (true, except it was a friend not a relative) and wasn't able to get back to town until "just the other day."
Time to build a bigger bridge.
