It is like a gold star that they put next to your name on your shop log. It means nothing financially.

It is an indicator that you have done a job below what you should have bid the job for and that you may be given preference in a future job for having it. I don't have any. If they are offering a hero citation, I'd go out of my way to do the shop at the required fee to make up for the speed and distance involved.

You can't pay the electric bill with a hero citation.
Thanks Scanman. I was wondering if it is across all sassie companies or just the one that offered it? If it's just the one its even more useless LOL.
I think the general consensus was that the hero citations are worthless. I've had hero citations and they haven't made a bit of difference. You get them when they are unable to fill an assignment and they're desperate. It sounds good but it really isn't worth anything.
technically, it is not for doing the job for a lower fee than usual..it is for taking a hard to fill job...what it really means--i have no clue---i don't know if it gives you a better rating or special consideration for future jobs.....

I was a hero and got moola! A giftcar. Can't say from which MSC though.

Hell's Bells, Canuck! I'd do hero citation work too if it meant I got a gift car! The hero citations I received early on proved to be worthless acknowledgments that I had suckered for the citation in lieu of a bonus. Hero citations are pretty much nuttinburgers to my way of thinking,

Thats awesome! Did you know upfront you were going to get it or was it a delightful surprise?
Does the giftcar get good gas mileage? And was it new or used? winking smiley

There are reasons that a body stays in motion
At the moment only demons come to mind
Did you remember to report the fair market value of the gift car as income on your tax return? The nice thing about a hero citation is that it is tax-free! smiling smiley And worth every penny!

the hero citation is a free 10 score factored into the sassie company its for. Also may give you job over another shopper if everything else is the same and you have the hero and they don't.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
for the most part.

Oh for crying out loud. I meant I got a gift card. And it was a surprise.

while not as breathtaking, a giftcard was still a nice gesture!
I once got a hero citation for doing a job for a desperate scheduler. But when I walked out my door the next day and saw that nobody had scheduled a parade in my honor or gave me the key to the city, I had this realization that although all was well in the world. I just got screwed. Moral of the story .. hero citations are zero without compensations.

Ding, ding, ding. We have a winnah!
I got a hero citation for doing a last minute job that i would have done anyway.

It's the only pat on the back a scheduler really can give you (gift cars and giftcards aside).

It's a "thank you for helping me make my goal this month."

Time to build a bigger bridge.
Oh, I thought gift car was a tongue in cheek joke. A gift card is much better, but a totally different meaning. Guess you did have to pay taxes on the gift card. Bummer. sad smiley

Yes, I thought it was like the opposite of when they flake you and give it weight of 2 or 10 (for some unfortunate people with schedulers that think they're The Punisher). Instead you get a 10 with an added weight of some sort. For the record, I've never gotten one. Everytime I look at the jobs it's like Heck no! A last minute one I would if the timing was right and I really wanted to up my average grade (Which I can only see wanting for a couple of companies that I rarely work for anyways).

Where are we going... and why are we in a hand basket?
What is better than a gift card is when you keep getting a ton of work from the company and they always give you what you request.
There is one oil change shop near me that started at $60 reimbursement + $50 bonus (at least from when I saw it). Then it went up to $60 & $60 and hero. Now it is at $60 & $75 and hero. I really want to do it, as it would be my first shop with that MSC but we have an older vehicle. My mom's is newer but just got an oil change last month, and she never goes over the recommended mileage.

There are no stupid questions, but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots
==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==
When you try to please everybody, you end up pleasing nobody
Step 1) Apply for and be assigned to the shop.
Step 2) Borrow your mother's car.
Step 3) Take the oil change sticker off of the windshield.
Step 4) Perform the shop, saying nothing about when the oil was last changed.
Step 5) Collect the fee.
Step 6) Send me half of the fee as a thank-you for this sage advice (just kidding)

It's definitely better for a car to have its oil changed too often than too infrequently. Definitely use your mom's car!
Well they kept upping the bonus as they closed in on the 30th. I saw it get up to $90. If I pops up again at all, I will definitely snag it.
A "Hero Citation" is when a sub sandwich is walking too slowly across the intersection and it gets a ticket smiling smiley
A "hero citation" is something that is added to your log but does not cost a thing for the MSC or will ever be worth anything to you. I have those and in one instance, I just felt like deactivating my account. Well, basically I have, since I have not done a shop for that MSC for quite a while.
