That is so incredibly unrealistic.
For example I am a small small fry person as far as MSP's are concerned. I currently owe over 7 or 8k to shoppers. I dont have that kind of cash laying around. I have to collect and compile all reports after a job is done, then send it to the client. Then the client (in my case) will mail checks within 30 days. Then I haveh to wait for that, then cash the check and wait for everything to clear, and then issue payments.
45 days is practically the bare minimum for most companies. Now take companies who are scheduling tens of thousands of jobs per month.
I would recommend saving money so this is no longer an issue, or picking jobs that you can afford to do.
So your Shoppers are spending their time and money to make YOU money and because you have no clue about how to run a business, the SHOPPER gets screwed?

Point taken and I apologize!
So generally speaking I wouldn't make personal comments to other people I dont know, but I am definitely going to discard that rule because you have now attacked me personally.
I make my shoppers money, my shoppers make me money. It's a symbiotic relationship.
No, I'm pretty sure none of my shoppers feel screwed but you can ask around. In fact, Im going to go out on a limb here and say that the majority of MYSTERY shoppers don't feel screwed by any msp who pays in 6 weeks because only idiots and stupid people continue to do a job day after day and week after week when they feel screwed for doing so. That's like sticking your finger in a light socket day after day. YOu gotta be a special kind of special to do that.
If you can't handle waiting 45 days for payments, mystery shopping is not for you dude.
Don't you find it a bit ironic that you are sitting here complaining about waiting for reimbursement for <$30 jobs while telling me I don't know how to run a business and am screwing shoppers? You can't handle your own finances to do shops and are criticizing over 80% of all MSP's and saying they have no clue how to run their business. Let's be clear, you're talking to me right now, but you literally @#$%& at me for something that nearly all MSP's do. I can count on one hand, one hand, the amount of companies I do work for who pay me in under 6 weeks. One hand.
In case it wasn't apparent, your comment about not knowing how to run a business is laughable. If I dont know how to run a business, it has nothing to do with my paying shoppers in 6 weeks. It's not the MSP's fault if people are too broke to do their jobs. It's the shoppers. If too many shoppers can't do the job, then they will have to adjust their payments. This has been an industry standard for a long time, so apparently it's working for shoppers and MSP's alike. That means you're in the minority, and maybe you should find out why you are still there.
My journey for shopping started doing no cost $15 bank jobs for a few weeks. Once those payments came in I recycled them into doing jobs that took travel or small costs but still made money. Once that money came in I expanded and did more. You're in business for yourself, and you can't handle waiting for reimbursements. What does that tell you about how you';re doing at running your business?
Ironic. Maybe spend less time worrying about how MSP's run their operation and more time figuring out how to run your own? I doubt anyone is going to be taking business advice from someone who is can't handle their own.
No sympathy dude. You've had several people tell you how to get out of the rut you are in, and you insist on attacking MSP's broadly and even me specifically suggesting that I dont know how to run my business. It's time for you to look at all of the people telling you the same thing and maybe take their advice.

I know I come across kind of harsh sometimes, but im really a nice guy sometimes...lol. I was where you were once. I thought the same things. I had a come to jesus moment and got mentored by some amazing people. Im MORE than willing and happy to help you along the same path. Just 4 years ago I lost my house, 10 year job, fiance, and was living in a car. I had more than my fair share of problems and issues but now I am in a much better place. I know how to get out of that rut at the beginning. Its effing tough. Ive screwed up jobs in just about every way imagineable and have had to create backup to bakcup plans. Im not the best shopper in the world, I definitely have my own issues. I can however share my dozens of mistakes with you and teach you what worked for me and hopefully it can help.
I guess myi point is this industry is what you make of it. You're a contractor now if you do this. Don't waste time with jobs that aren't worth it. There are TOO many companies out there and not all of them. Let me know what city you are at and we can talk. I might know some good MSP's that have some decent no out of pocket work to help get you started.
Meanwhile though...those PPV jobs...look into them. you lose nothing by finding out what kind of place it is. It coould just be some rec center or bowling alley. If you find one you are comfortable going to do, easy money to help build your bank.
My offer is sincere. Get me some details about your situation and I'll help. Just stop being mad at MSP's for 6 weeks that's middle of the road.

Seriously. If you've actually started businesses from scratch and made them successful enough to sell, at this point you should understand the concept of a payment cycle. 30 days is no time at all in most businesses.

MSP's aren't really selling a product. It's easy for a business to pay in 2 weeks or 3 days when every single day they earn money to cover all of their expenses for what they sold (as a general rule). An MSP on the other hand has to do the work first, and then invoice payment, and then wait for payment. That process makes an MSP different than other companies.
In the MSP world, the average is 30-45 days for payment. To a lesser degree 60 to 90, but I also won't work for companies who are like that.

Right. I was just reacting to the OP's having built and sold several businesses from scratch and still being surprised at the idea that most small businesses and startups don't have the cash reserves to pay all their bills sooner than 30 days. It just seemed a little strange for them to be unfamiliar with that.

Most of my MSCs pay promptly within the next month, but I'm working for one MSC with a 90-day cycle. I'm thinking it's not worth it anymore. They had problems paying me years ago when I first worked for them. 30-45 days I can handle much better, but even 90 days would be OK if I actually saw the money reliably without having to ask for it.

This particular company has been around for a long time and always been like this as long as I've worked with them, so I'm sure it's just the way they do things. They don't seem to have many clients in my area, so it wouldn't be much of a loss to stop working with them.

Thing is, I don't mind waiting 90 days or 6 months to get paid if that's your payment schedule. The only thing I ask is that you pay when you say you're going to without me having to ask where my money is a month after you said you would pay. I find that unprofessional and it makes me not want to work with them even if the work or the pay itself isn't an issue.
