How many shops in a day?

How many shops are too much to do on a given day? The reason I ask is that I realize that the more shops I have on a give day, the more likely I make a mistake. I do know that not all shops are the same either and some shops are easier to do than the others depending upon how much time one would spend writing.

It will vary by both the type of shop, the location of the shops, and the shopper preforming the shops. I have done as little as 1 in a day to as many as 15.

That said today was 2 car shops, 2 bank shops, a usps, and a microsoft shop. Long day time to enter reports but I did have lunch and dinner out. I would also repeat the day.

Personally I think it is easier to do the same types of shops all in one day and another type the next if possible. However there are limits ex I won't do more than 3 dealerships in one day. Also make sure you use some sort of mapping service to pre plan your route and make sure it is feasible.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I guess the answer is we all know what we can handle. I am getting better at being organized and I can handle more without making many mistakes...but I do make mistakes and they are usually a total disaster. I am just completely honest with the MSC's even if I have to take the loss. Trust me - you will find that most are very forgiving and let a few mistakes slide.
My head spins. I wake in the mornings without a shop and wonder where I have to be. I am grateful for task snd day planners, gps, Google Maps, and routing possibilities. Taking notes to remind me of descriptions helps and so does maximizing similar assignments. There is definitely a learning curve.
My best days are unplanned. I wake up early and catch the emails as they go out for last minute shops with a bonus and then get calls from MF asking me to eat a meal that is on the same side of town.

I'd rather do a couple of jobs with a good bonus than to plan ahead and do many jobs at base pay. tongue sticking out smiley

I think this depends on the person and the shops you take. ive done as much as 20 in a day however they were grocery store alcohol audits (which take maybe 5 minutes) and they were also tobacco and and alcohol audits for gas stations which again take 3-4 minutes to report.
Last wednesday tho I did a route of 5 bonused apartment shops and that was all I took because I knew that would be at least an hour of reports each.

I know my limits because I have learned the hard way. My very first route I took 18 shops that (I didnt know at the time-) had very long reports. I was up till 4-5am writing up reports. Lesson learned however, I made 440$ in that day. . But I also worked easily 22-23 hrs, I won't ever forget that day I don't think lol

Just depends how much you want to work, how much you want to earn and how much time you have.

I can't remember the most that I have done in one day but I think it was 20-something. This past Sunday, I performed 14 shops in less than 4 1/2 hours. That includes drive time but not report time. All reports were easy peasy, some with radio buttons and photos only. Gotta love the no commentary reports.

I am the total opposite of scanman when it comes to scheduling. I have my days planned out way in advance otherwise I would never have the time to do the shops. I have several regular projects that I do on a monthly and quarterly basis. I organize my days by area/region to maximum drive time and car expenses. I will add last minute shops to an existing schedule if there is a spot for it. And yes, I still get many bonus offers.
over 45 is pushing it

I've done 20 bank shops in one day.

The most I have handled successfully was recently; a ten hour, 100 mile trip, retail audit in 12 different stores. I had to audit 20-40 different items and document the sku #'s. Never again it was too much for me.
I only shop evenings and weekends thanks to my day job, so I can usually only do 3-4 shops in an evening or up to 10 on a Saturday. I try to take most Sundays off and not overbook and burn myself out as I did when I first started.

I don't work that much compared to full-time shoppers, but if I can fit in a good number of higher-paying shops I'm pretty happy with the extra money I make per month.
A comfortable number for me is 6 shops in a day. That way I can get them done early and be home early afternoon and all reports are entered by 5pm. I still manage to make a reasonable living doing 6 a day.
I've done 30 gas stations in a day on a route before, and reporting was only photos and check boxes. Easy 12 hour drive time, and 2 hours reporting. Was allowed 24 hours to enter reports. Also have struggled getting long narratives completed on a list of 36 airport shops, and that was with 48 hours to get completed. It all depends on how well you can be organized, and also have a system to get the reports entered.

I try to plan the shops around my regular job. Since what I do is merchandising for my normal job I usually stay within a 40-mile radius of home. Sometimes I get assigned a job that is in another state. But the lead time for shopping is sometimes too long that I rarely can grab a shop when I'm out of town. Haven't collected enough schedulers Phone numbers or emails yet.
I did 40-something once for the annual QSR audit. That was around 2004 I think?

Today I did 14, and I also took two plane trips. I'm beat.
I think the best I've done was 2-3 shops and 3 assignments on Field Agent. I'm still new, but that day made me rethink trying to do a bunch of locations in one day. Now I know to work in "zones" and keep to one zone per day, unless I get use of the car.
