What is a 10 for 1 citation?

I did a shop a while ago. The company sent me an e-mail to apologize for getting evaluations out late. They are making changes in their system and my payment will be in June....for a shop done in April. They sent me an e-mail saying:

"You have received the following citation from (I left out the name)
Thank you for your help and sorry for the trouble!"

In another e-mail they said "I am adding a “Hero Citation” to your account".

This citation is worth a shop rating of 10 for 1 shop(s)."

What does this mean?

It is supposed to be a reward or recognition for going out of you way for a company. Many shoppers think they are more of a joke, at least with many companies. If you share the name of the company in question, I'm sure you can get more directed responses.

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
AHero Citationn is work exactly - NOTHING. There are lots of posts about this topic. The consensus is that they are worth absolutely nothing and are simply a way to get gullible shoppers to do shops for less money.

The OP mean that they receive a "bonus" score of 10 for performing one shop. Whether that actually happens with a Hero Citation is not clear, but that is the pretext. Even if it does, I don't think it matters.

Think of it like getting a gold star on your homework assignment in elementary school. There are some companies that have jobs that require you have an average rating of 9-10. If you did some poor shops, this could bring your average up, but if your already doing 9-10 rated shops, it means nothing.
As a scheduler, if I see a hero citation on an app, and there are multiple apps for a shop, I am more inclined to give the shopper the shop.

If a shopper has flaked, and I see a hero citation, I will give them a shop.

Hero citations may not have a monetary value but they will lead to more money.

I get the shoppers think they mean nothing but it means something to me.
Consider them atta boys/girls. Unless you flake on a lot of shops it makes you look good to the schedulers. who they gonna pick, over another shopper with about the same stats and scores.
I had plenty of "hero citations" for one particular company I worked with. That didn't stop them from QCing every negative shop i did; telling me I wasn't going to get paid because some manager IDed me AFTER they received the report; and removing me from doing more shops with certain clients just because.
Let's just say if you get a hero citation, it does not entitle you to bragging rights. winking smiley Like someone said, it's a happy face on your forehead in grade school. If you want it badly, you can have mine for free.
