I just did a shop at the Apple store and they were not selling any of those new watches. They were letting people try them on and they had two tables and six employees demonstrating them. I had to wait in the store for 15 minutes and count some other purchases and heard much worse than that from many of the potential customers. They also had a police officer (second job) between the two tables and the front of the store. He did not move and just watched every watch that they pulled out of the case looking for someone who was going to run with it.
They were going nuts over the watches ($400-$800). I just don't get it. It has a screen that is the size of a postage stamp and bluetooth to your phone. How many texts are you going to read and other one way information, alarms, reminders and other information do you need so bad that you can't be bothered to pull your phone out to look at it.
I could see if you had a medical condition and had a health monitoring device. For the average person, this is just another fashion accessory. I bet it ends up like Google Glass in the long run.
