Pricing Audit

Does anyone have experience with the TrendSource Pricing audits? I think I did this 3 years ago before I knew anything about mystery shopping. If I remember right, it was frustrating and hard to find the items. I realize this isn't a traditional mystery shop, but still. I have learned a lot and I'm much quicker than when I began. I figured I should see what others have experienced. Are these shops worth it?

I love their pricing audits. I find it best to do pricing audits for stores you are already familiar with, otherwise it can take much longer to find the items. I have gotten very familiar with one particular store that is near me that I can knock out 200 items in about an hour and a half.

And yes, the first pricing audit I ever did for Trendsource was a nightmare. It took me 2 hours to locate 100 items. Ever since then, they've simplified the input and I try and snatch them whenever I can.

I've done the price audits for one of the mall stores. They've been wonderful and easy...when you get a good associate to help. If you get a lunkhead helping you, they can be torture. Yet overall, when I see them on the board, I accept. Since I have a rhythm to it now, it works great.
I did it once. It took an hour to find 50 items and the pay was awful. I suppose they do get easier with experience, but I will probably never know.
The last pricing audit I did was about 3 years ago. The MSC would courier a pak with 50 or more (depending on the job) of sheets of bar codes. There were approximately 60 bar codes per sheet and each code had to be scanned and the info noted on the sheet. It was really hard to do if most of the scanners were out of order or if the store was not busy. It was also frustrating to share the scanners with the actual customers!! More than once I had a CSR approach me to find out what I was doing. Thank god I always had my story sorted out before I entered the store. I was lucky and was never asked to leave the store. The last one I did was different because I now had to print out each sheet of bar codes which was a cost I did not feel I should have to cover. My printer was not printing at 100% and the scanners couldn't/wouldn't read the bar codes. I had to eventually download the file to a stick and get Staples to print them out. Since I was unwilling to accept these extra charges again, I have decided not to do this type of shop again.
After reading the posts above, I wonder: are there different types of priciing audits?

I believe that there are or were a few different types of audits and with different MSC's. Besides the audits of bar codes I used to do, I have also completed audits for a Canadian big box store chain where certain products and displays were to be audited with the help of a staff member. I have seen audits for food store products and I am sure there are other types of audits I am not aware of.
