Ice Bar Shop with timings

Has anyone shopped an ice bar before?

I am going to need exact timings and here is the wrinkle. They have a locker and you are not allowed to bring any electronic devices into the bar. Probably has something to do with your smart phone melting into the counter and shorting out. tongue sticking out smiley

I may have to sneak my recorder in the bar. It's never been tested at 22 degrees F before.

Ok I'll bite. WTF is an ice bar?!?!?!

The whole bar is in a freezer. EVERYTHING is made of ice. The bar is ice, the glasses are ice.

Entrance fee includes gloves and a winter coat. If you don't use a coaster, your drink will freeze to the table.

I looked at the shop form and they don't need exact timings after all. This is going to be a cold experience.

On the bright side, the shop visit is not as long as most. I guess people don't spend too much time there.

I'm so glad bgriffin asked the question. His question was exactly my thought as I read the initial post.

Having read the description, it sounds absolutely horrible to me. Let us know how it goes. If you enjoy it, it could be one you can do every rotation......I wouldn't think this one will go flying off the job boards unless it pays really, really big money ........
OMG I seriously wanna go to one!

Sounds like a sweet shop, but i cant even imagine doing a timing shop without my phone. The no electronics rule is a gimmick and/ or overzealous liability fear. A phone or recorder that spends most of the time close to your body is not in any danger. A wind up watch is not an electronic device.

are you allowed to have a digital watch? My watch cost about $15 and has a split timer on it.

If you asked me which person here is MOST likely to know what an Ice Bar is, I would have said you. smiling smiley

I am shocked.

I've been to one in Vegas. It's fun but I imagine it's only fun if you're in a place that's a billion degrees like Vegas.
Near me, a hotel opens their ice bar in like December. It's ridiculous. Nobody wants to be even colder than they are already sick of being in the winter.

People go, though... Not me.

Going to an ice bar is a real novelty. I'm not all that excited about ice carvings, but the glass made of ice was an interesting twist. My drink did not melt at all. If anything, the glass grew as my drink froze inside it.
The ice bar I know of is in Vegas. At the Mandalay Bay, -Minus 5 Ice Lounge. I walked by but did not go inside. smiling smiley
Uggg. Now that you mentioned the name I can't ask Scanman who the MSC is next time I'm in Orlando lol.
