Schedulers won't answer questions

I'm new to MS and I've noticed something about almost every scheduler I've come into contact with and find it really frustrating. They all seem to respond to my questions/emails pretty promptly, but in their response they seem to totally ignore and not even address the main thing I was asking about or the issue I was having. It's like they're not even reading the text of my message. It's just very difficult getting any specific information from most schedulers. Has anyone else experienced this?

Do not write a long email to a scheduler. They will skim it and if you write a long drawn out email, they likely will file it under later. Later will not arrive in time.

Give them the JobID#, company name (schedulers work for more than one company), and the question as briefly written and directly to the point as possible. The shorter the email the better chance of them keying in on your question and giving you a quick reply.
I agree with scanman 100%. Short and sweet. I apply that philosophy to most of the posts on this forum. I don't have the time to read a long drawn-out whinefest. I scan the subject headers, open and scan some more. Quick and efficient.

Many schedulers are not familiar with the guidelines to their own shops/accounts. Editors are a lot more familiar with the reportrs for obvious reasons.
You are right -- the IGNORE emails unless they think they can get your butt in a shop NOW, TODAY! They do not cultivate long term relationships with shoppers. I have had to send 2 or 3 or 4 emails to Confero, Service Slueth, HS Brands and others. Got no answer on car washing shops etc.
Again, this is some schedulers. I do my best to answer every inquiry I receive; or forward it to the appropriate place if it is beyond my control.

Arguing with fools is like playing chess with a pigeon...
...No matter how good you are, the pigeon will s@^t on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

Not scheduling for ANY company.
Ya, and I am sick of it, too. If they don't answer, I have just cancelled the shop. I can not spend time and worry to see if they answer my question in time. (Rare). I mean, questions arise, and they should care. GFK is horrible at answering e-mail (maybe Dante is excluded from this but he is not a scheduler for me). Gapbuster usually answers right away, so some are good. Today I called a shop and their line was disconnected. It is a bank and I am fairly sure they are gone. I have written and called 2 schedulers for this particular MSC, and so far not a miniscule response on what they want me to do. I am not going to bother going over there for a $3. closed shop fee or something--especially after I have wasted so much time calling and writing. I will probably try to ignore their requests for shoppers in my area, in the future, due to this practice. I believe that part of a scheduler's job should be reading emails, thoroughly, and answering them the same way. We have time restraints, too, and taking the time to write should elicit a timely response. That's what I think.
I have that issue with a specific MSC (not just a scheduler)..i gave up and just don't do certain shops often because I am afraid they will be rejected since the instructions don't work.....if i do it the way it does work they can reject it...i try to actually do it both ways..the way that works 1st and then the way it doesn't.

One time I asked a question about a grocery shop and got a response about a gas station!
Most of the schedulers I have come in contact with are responsive. Response time varies on weekends, which is understandable.
I had this happen to me. I e-mail a scheduler an question about an shop that I would like to have done but was waiting more information. We exchanged several e-mails but the last one I sent, they didn't reply. Then she sent out an mass e-mail saying there is a shop avaialble.

HUM.
Good advice from scanman. Schedulers are usually really busy, so try to just "state the facts, ma'am". That should do it for you!
HA! I asked one, recently, a one sentence question: What size do you want the pictures?
The info was not in the instructions. It took 3 emails, back and forth, to get the answer. She never read the sentence.
Hey folks, schedulers don't have time to wipe your fannies and wipe your nose. Read your guidelines and get out there and do the shop.
bestofbothworlds, I agree with you somewhat. Some shoppers can be rather whiny and expect everything to be handed to them on a silver platter. But I have run across conflicting and/or confusing guidelines. I always bring it to the scheduler's attention in a non-condescending way. They usually thank me and revised guidelines have been made for the next round.

If a scheduler tells you to do something that is not in the guidelines, make sure you get it in writing and SAVE those emails. At some point, having that proof will save your report and payment.
But I have run across conflicting and/or confusing guidelines.

I agree, Sybil. In those cases I save a copy of the guidelines so I can defend my report. I have had only one report rejected in my shopping experience. BFD. Defend it and move on.
Register with companies ... lots of companies. Good place to find companies to start is with links at the bottom of this page.

You're hired. You can start tomorrow
Lorena, you have to sign up online with the mystery shopping companies. After you have signed up with a company, you can look on their website at their job board and see what is available. You will have to sign up with lots of companies and it will be up to you to find work. There is no "job" here. You have to set up and create your own business. Read this forum, especially the area for new shoppers. Welcome.
