BestMark oil change shops

After reading some threads about oil changes, is it safe to assume the dealearship shops from Bestmark are good shops? Having just reentered the arena I'm still learning. Any advice?

This is my opinion. You have to trust someone. Some people only trust themselves to change their oil, or watch tge technicians like hawks. But most of the rest of us have to trust someone. I have a garage I trust. I trust my car dealership. There is a local (4 locations) chain that I trust and really like. I have learned the hard way not to trust the company which has recently been the subject of other threads. Regardless of where you go, mistakes can happen. So no matter where you go, or even if you change your own oil, look for puddles of oil under your car. I suggest taking a photo under your hood with your cell phone. All of the user serviceable parts in my car are color coded yellow. It is clear where the dipstick is and the oil fill cap and the windshiled washer fluid cap and etc. After you get your car serviced (anywhere), open the hood and compare to the photo you saved. If a "yellow" item is missing, something is wrong.

Welcome back to MSing Cheryl. I have done a few dealership oil changes with BestMark and a local dealership. In my opinion, it really depends on how you view your dealerships. I don't have any problems with trusting the dealership I go to, but there are others I wouldn't. Also, I have found that the dealership is way slower and more expensive than the quick lube place I used to go to. I once waited almost an hour an a half and paid double for the privilege. I would never take my car into a dealership for an oil change if I wasn't getting reimbursed and paid. It isn't worth my time for reimbursement only or even the opening rate, but I have gotten free oil changes and nice bonuses to boot.

Could I have a receipt please?
If I were considering an oil change at a local dealership, I'd look up the online reviews for that particular location. I say this because there is a local one here that is legendary in their dishonesty. I'd never take my vehicle there. However, a lot of people do because they don't know their reputation. Just because it's a dealership doesn't mean its ok, although your chances are better.
I did an oil change shop with BM at the local dealership. Paid great, service was excellent, and my wait was minimal. It is definitely on my do again list. I did do a small bit of research on the service department first and knew they had a good reputation. I'd say go for it!
I guess I misworded this. I really meant to ask if this shop was worth doing or if there is a ton of narrative. I haven't done any shops that paid this well and am just a little leery when I see pay being over $10. In the area I live there are never a lot of shops except banks and credit unions. Must be a lot of shoppers in this area.
I have done some for BM at a car brand that they don't do very often. The amount of work required for the report was quite reasonable. Even it you are there for 2 hours, the pay is reasonable. I was required to make an appointment, which helped.

Relative to other oil change shops for other companies, BM's are a ton of narrative. By recollection, it's three to four sentences per paragraph, three to four paragraphs per section, about eight or nine sections per report, plus the accompanying 125-150 multiple choice questions. The website or phone call section you can get done before the shop, and you can work on the report at the dealership if they have WiFi. If I recall, the base pay on non-luxury brands is $20-25 plus full reimbursement for oil change and tire rotation. Bonuses become quite generous on out of the way locations.
I just did a heavily bonused one of these , this past Thursday. I think it is probably my sixth oil change shop with them. The reports arent terrible, except for a few sentences on each section everything is check marked. I sit in the waiting area and complete everything I can and do the balance at home which probably takes me an additional 40 minutes or less. I was reimbursed the 41.xx for the oil change and $100 to sit and wait the hour for it. So for two hours worth of work and about 20 minutes round trip I would say I made good money. Most of the time i would not be paid that much but I still find it worth my time if I need one done anyway.

I unfortunately no longer have a car that works for the Bestmark oil changes. I do have on that works for the Intellishop ones. The reports are both relatively easy, but the Bestmark bonuses were much better. Intellishop will occasionally have decent bonuses, but Bestmark would have amazing bonuses. I have not had my oil changed on any of the vehicles I have owned in the last 5 years anywhere but a dealership because of these!
