Finishing my second month doing mystery shopping, and I broke $100 profit this month!

So I know for a lot of people on here that's not a lot, but I live in a small town with few shops close, and with it being summer, baby sitting has been a big issue. But I'm supper excited! I have reached $102 in profit this month, plus a lunch for 4, completely reimbursed, and a lunch for 2 completely reimbursed. I just wanted to take a moment to share my excitement!

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
I think you are doing great. Your income will increase month by month. When I first started, I was like you. Then I got paid and got more shops and before you know it, I was making lots more money. I wish you the best. smiling smiley
Way to go! Congratulations! Something I learned in mystery shopping is that if I keep a positive attitude, things go positive for me. Stay away from negative vibes, most especially negative people. Challenging shops usually pay more so don't hesitate. You can do it! You are doing great! Good luck!
Good news. Remember to pace yourself.

Keep up the great work and continue to build your reputation and furnish your skill.

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
That's great! I also turned a $57 profit last month. I'm not in this for the money. It's a chance to travel and I think it is exciting going to new restaurants to eat.
I'm not really in it for the money either. I'm a stay at home mom, and when I started it, I thought "oh this will give me something to do while my daughter's in school." But I really enjoy it, and the more I earn the more "fun" money we have for thing like pedicures for my daughter and me, and date night for me and my hubby. I know some people use mystery shopping as a income, but for me it just makes things a little less tight, and lets us have some fun with out worrying how it will affect the bank account. But I will say the more I do, the more I enjoy it, and the more I enjoy it the more I do...wow that could cause a never ending loop... smiling smiley
isaiah58, the pacing my self thing, I don't know if I'm so good at yet. I just finished setting up a rout trip, and I have 11 stores on the rout. The majority of them are simple convenience store shops that I've done before, so I don't think that part will be bad, but I also have a dinner shop, and few shop in the mall. The biggest rout I have done up to this point is 5 shops. But if I'm successful at completing my whole rout in one day(I have longer on most of the shops, just in-case), I will profit a total of $105 after gas. Plus the reimbursement for the dinner, and various things I have to buy. Lots of small fee shops, but it gives me the chance to "build your reputation and furnish your skill." like Tarantado.
Congrats! You'll quickly be breaking $100 per week and per day if want to grow it. If you want to stick with the life enhancement aspects, watch for the shops that provide really fun things to do with your kids.
Awesome! It's great to track your profits - both financial and fun! Keep up the good work.
Believe it or not, I am in it for the money. winking smiley But add fun and challenge, those are undeniably enough push to get me going...Keep up the good work.
Congratulations and the very best of luck.

Congratulations, Cynthiam! I first got into mystery shopping two years ago when I was at home on my parental leave with my son. I started shopping as a way of earning something that I could continue to save, while my income had been cut. You'll love it, and you're on your way to higher profitable months!! It's addicting though smiling smiley
Glad you are having fun. Mystery shopping is not a career but it does provide extra $$. Alt seems to be a good bet for higher paying shops. I too live in the sticks and have to drive for shops.
Try Amusement Advantage for fun things to do with your kids. Hopefully some of their shops are in your area.
I get a theatrical thrill like an actor gets when he hears the theater applause.
Not on the shops in my demographic, but on the shops where car salespeople do not give you test drives and Jewelers do not show you a tray of sparkling jewelry if you do not look like you can buy one.
On the flip side of the coin going into the urban/ intercity also requires changing your clothes, your car and your attitude, you must assume the demographic attitude where you do not react like a suburbanite when you are asked for "change" or asked if you want a personal service by a lady that looks twice as old as she is and is shaking for a drug fix so she can by a nickel bag (drugs) . Unless you live there or are a thespian I would suggest you do not go there, it may be dangerous. I got acting classes when I was in law enforcement.
I do not think I can say it enough. Do not go if you do not know! If you drive by and they are not wearing the same clothes and driving similar in appearance vehicles as you are driving they will know your are either a mystery shopper or you are looking for drugs unless you are a carrying a bible.

When you get the check from the MSC and your shop is not rejected they are applauding me for my performance.
Great job!!! I just started in March and now I'm making at least $300-$450 profit a month! I like the new car and apartment shops.
I became disabled and used to be in the interior design field. I love the apartment shops! I love seeing the decor! It's fun for me and they usually pay $40-$50 a shop.
And as far as the new car shops, I love telling them NO at the end when they push me to buy the car!!! I love asking for the best price and finding out the same car is thousands of dollars different in price at dealerships around town.
I know where to go when I'm ready for a new car!
I love being an actress. I've got my story down pat!
Sometimes I take a friend along and she laughs at me when I barter with the car salesman!
This is turning out to be a fun adventure!
The reports are long! Yes indeed! But for the adventure of it, it's worth it!
Gets me out of the house!!

Go girl, I thought I was the only crazy that gets the thrill of acting. I need to have a mutually beneficial experience (be paid fairly for the experience) but playing the role and being believable is an extra bonus. The applause comes when the MSC sends me a check for the performance.

I am signed up with Amusement Advantage, They have shops that are about an hour drive from me, so not too bad. But I'm a little intimidated by all the things they require when on a shop. I'm afraid that if I did one just me and my daughter I would miss some of the requirements. I'm trying to wait till me and my hubby both have a free weekend so we can all go together. That way he can help with watching out daughter and help me remember all the points I need to check.

Considering the shopper stated babysitting has been an issue, it may be some time before she can go anywhere overnight and do much traveling...
