I love the majority of my MSC's, but I'm over one of them.

Had an email for a new shop in my area. It would have required all of 30 miles for four shops. That's huge in my area of TX. Didn't have to buy anything, but probably would have.

I left a message for the scheduler. Scheduler never called or emailed. Last summer, I worked some shops but was never assigned anything that didn't require me asking for extensions as opposed to cash bumps.

I'm letting off steam right now. This particular company either has favorites or allow their scheduler's to scoop up the shops.

Please don't ask who I'm ticked of at the moment. If you shop in TX, the MSC is obvious. Oh and they have a weird window for paying us.

I get that you wanted the shops but schedulers are swamped with calls and emails and only one, two, three, or four shoppers are going to get the shops you wanted....there could be a huge pool of shoppers and yes schedulers will use their favorites and schedulers may also take the shops (but unlikely as you would have never seen the email.)

Traveliz, the shops were not assigned when I called. The scheduler never called back. The way it was set up I needed to call to get the shops scheduled. I didn't get a phone call or the assignment. The same thing happened last year. Shops within 20 miles were never assigned. Shops that were over 150 miles were always assigned.

I understand that scheduler's are busy. This particular assignment had a short window and I needed to ask a question.

I'm a Texas shopper and have no idea who this MSC is... but it stinks when a scheduler doesn't bother to contact you to let you know "thanks, but no thanks" at the very least.

I think you're asking for a little too much here. It's not enough that schedulers respond to hundreds or even thousands of emails every day; (some shoppers even call me at 3 in the morning) do you expect schedulers to respond to every shopper that asks why they were not granted the shop as well?

I schedule on average 1,000 assignments per month for two companies, I cannot respond to every shopper who does not receive an assignment.

I mean for the ones where they are going back and forth with me about needing me to do an "urgent" shop... Then... Crickets. It's happened a number of times. I'll try to rearrange my schedule, make it where I can perhaps grab a meal where they need me to be and then I'm waiting around. A simple, "sorry, we got it taken care of" is all I'd need. I get it when I apply and then don't hear back. This is more about the schedulers who disappear once their emergency shop gets taken. Anyway, I think that's an entirely different thread anyway. Thanks for responding me though. I know schedulers stay super busy with all of us shoppers' emails all day long. Just don't "lead me on!"

If I am corresponding on an urgent shop, I don't lead anyone on; if during our discussions it is scheduled, I do thank the shopper for their interest.

I agree with Dante 100%. Many schedulers work for many different MSCs and many different projects. Some projects are enormous so schedulers do not have the luxury of contacting each shopper personally. Many shops will stay on the job board and applications will stay pending just in case a shopper flakes out on a job. Other times, there is a quota for the project and once that quota has been met, new shops are no longer assigned. Yes, it would be nice is they just closed down the project but that is not usually the case.
