That extra scoop of fries

Well, I had been wondering for that 5G shop about the question inquiring your thoughts of the size of the little fry (I would buy this size instead of no fries at all, i would buy a larger size, etc...) Well I finally just caught on (I haven't done many 5G shops recently). No extra scoop of fries in the little fries. I wasn't asked about it at all in the report. Went back and reviewed the details, yep, since they added the regular the extra scoop is only in the regular and large...bummer...the regular (with a extra scoop of fries) is way too big! Guess all the other shoppers gave them insight to get rid of that extra scoop on the little fries sad smiley

I've always gotten an extra scoop on the little fries. In fact, there are more fries in the bag than the cup.
I take them home and freeze them. works great when you want some fries at home. I had an employee suggest that to me.
I always get an extra scoop with the little fries and yes, more fries than in the cup.
The amount of extra fries in the "little" order is truly ridiculous. It's sometimes enough to feed at least 3 people. I ordered the "regular" once to share with a friend, and we couldn't get through half of them. I guess potatoes must be cheap enough that you can make more throwing them away than using them.
Did two of them this month and got the extra scoop each time, with the small fries. The $12 reimburse basically covers a mini cheese burger, sm fries and drink -- not a lot of wiggle room on the ordering, if you plan on staying within the reimbursement. (& if I'm doing a shop, I am NOT donating part of a small fee back to the client, in the form of a purchase -- so sorry 5G!)
There is always the extra scoop here and the only differences between the regular and little are the price and that regular uses a slightly larger cup. There is supposed to be a smaller scoop as the extra but my sense is that they use the same scoop filled as much as for the regular order. Here a cheeseburger, little and regular drink runs $12.37 with tax, so I'm willing to pay them the 37 cents because my guest gets to share the fries and there are still fries left over. That means that the dinner for the two of us still stays within the fee + reimbursement amount.
I have noticed that in my area the extra scoop gets smaller and smaller. I wondered if this had to do with the fact that when they are new to the area they are trying to wow the customer and after they are more established that extra scoop gets smaller.
It could be, but I would rather suspect they may not be ordering enough potatoes. Here the scoop gets smaller if there are only a couple of the 50# sacks of potatoes left on the stands in the dining room. Fries are not an area where you skimp. I bought a 5# bag of potatoes the other day for less than the cost of a little fries.
I always thought it was half an extra scoop for the little fries. I get a little burger reg fries and large drink for $11.71 - $12.28 depending on the area. I take the extra fries to my parents who like them with vinegar.
The regular fries order gets an extra scoop but the little fry, half a scoop but I almost always get an extra scoop anyway. Once, when I ordered a little fry, the order taker told me that little fry was only for kids. And when I got my order, I received about 6 extra pieces. I was not used to that and I guess that depends on the location.

But I think the restaurants are overdoing the extra scoop. Why would you order a regular when little fry will get you the same with the extra scoop and who can eat that much fries? Two people can more than share the little fry. The same thing as the fountain drink. Why get the large size when refill is free? And who can drink so much soda? I would not order the drink if it were not a requirement. There is water available anyway.
Around here they have a small metal tray/bowel they fill for the extra fries on a small order. If the associate is lazy they use the scoop, giving even more fries. I shop across four locations, little fries every time.

That's how it is with most of the locations I've been to. The extra scoop is measured in the little metal tray.

The guidelines say how many extra fries are in each size. There should be an option on the report that allows you to say that the quantity wasn't what you expected, and that should trigger the section where you can specify what happened.

Our entire family typically shares a little when we all go.
Never thought of freezing them and using them later. Could make breakfast potatoes out of them by dicing them up with some onions and peppers. Mmmmm

They also have plastic bags for leftovers, though you have to ask. Not to say there's no grease, just no grease soaking through a paper bag and into the car. The aluminum pans are used for bunless burgers and hotdogs. I have seen them used as a fry scoop, too.

Just have had no luck salvaging leftover fries, no matter which method I have tried. Just as well.
Has anyone actually ordered the large fries? I'm not sure Ive ever seen it served to someone. They must deliver it to you in a dump truck.

Seriously, nobody cares that you're offended.
I just did one of these shops at lunch today and definitely got the extra 1/2 scoop. Didn't realize they didn't ask those questions about the little fries until you said something though. However, it did still mention that you should've gotten 1/2 scoop extra with them.
I ordered the large fries once. I was there with my sister and her kids. She bought her own sandwiches and I took care of the fries.
If we order from them for work, we will get two large fries. That's close to a bag full each. I think a small is enough for two people.

I chop up the leftover fries and throw them into an omelette sometimes for breakfast. Either that, or I re-fry them and incorporate it to another meal.

jeez, isaiah...is part of this report having to examine a "small metal tray/BOWEL". isn't that a somewhat invasion of privacy? or maybe, just maybe a type? just askin'.

Ha! I didn't notice.

My mom once saw a sign for a "Bowel of Soup" while on a road trip. She declined the offer.

I used to get a full scoop of fries up until last year, and there were was always lots of fries at the bottom of the bag. Now, I only get about 8 fries. My theory is HO started cracking down on franchisees to follow the rules, and not give away so much free product. I used to go with my husband and toddler, and we would get a Little fries, two burgers, and a hot dog and we would be stuffed. Lately, I do them by myself, get a burger, fries and drink, and I am still hungry and snack on peanuts afterwards. I can't really say anything, because you can't compare it to previous visits, and the Guidelines say a Little Fries come with 8 extra fries.
Lay them out on a cookie sheet and they quickly freeze. Bag them up and we heat them in the toaster oven on a piece of tin foil works great.
I ordered the large fries one time. It was to serve four adults and we each had plenty. Here a little fries always comes with a full metal pan scoop over the top of the burger and is double what fits in the paper cup. Sometimes it is difficult to get the burger out of the bag without it wanting to open up due to the amount of fries.
Once, I received my little fry with no extra scoop. I just jokingly mentioned to the staff who delivered it to me, "Where is the extra scoop?" Then I ended up with a whole bag of fries. I placed them in a freezer bag and warmed the whole bundle when my son visited me.
I have resisted this shop for months and now all this talk about fries makes me want to sign up for one tomorrow!! Why are all the great tasting foods bad for you????? OMG--I need fries.
We've ordered the large before.

It was one of the rare occasions we were feeding a small army. winking smiley
