Hotel Shops ?

Hi! I was interested in trying out some hotel mystery shops. However, the ones I have found offer reimbursement only. Is this normal? I am working to make money not just stay in a hotel and eat there for free. It does not seem like I would get to enjoy the stay with all the photos and questions. So I would want to be paid for my services. I am a MSPA gold certified shopper and have completed over 100+ mystery shops/audits in the 2 years (actual time not including off periods) of experience that I have.

I do both types (fee and no fee). I mainly enjoy staying in the hotels. Most that I do offer a fee ranging from $30-$100.
Thank you! I have noticed their is absolutely no change in fees ( no increase in pay for inflation) or they have went to reimbursement only in the past ten years (I was last active in 2004.). The reimbursement only is great if you really like the product. However, when it includes intense narratives, a lot of details, and traveling; then there needs to be reimbursement and some pay.
I have shopped hotels for 7-8 years. The fees range from reimbursement only to $350. My favorite is the one I pay the msc $600 for an all-inclusive resort.

There are a lot of threads about this. Click on the link by your original post that says "more about hotel mystery shopping." Here is one thread. It wasn't the one I had hoped to find, but it gives some of the information you are looking for.

You may want to pay special attention to the many posts about the potential value of the rewards points one may gather from all hotel shops, including the ones that are reimbursement only. Several of the recent threads that you will find if you search "hotel" for "last 30 days" are instructive on that issue.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.

Yep, the reward points can really add up. I've got an upcoming shop next month where it looks like I'll earn just north of 50,000 reward points for the stay.
Thanks y'all! I am hoping to get a hotel shop with a little pay. I need a mini vacation but it is not a vacation if I have no time to enjoy it.
