ALL CAPS???

I applied for a shop and saw this in the guidelines (copy and pasted) * Make sure each comment is typed in UPPERCASE letters*. I've been doing this less than a year, but have several hundred shops under my belt and isn't this the OPPOSITE of what we are usually supposed to do? It just struck me as odd, and I even wondered if it was a typo. It will be weird typing that way to me, but if that's what they want....

I do remember there was one oddball company like that. I never did it, but if I needed to I would probably type anything that looked like a narrative in Word and then use the formatting tool to turn it into all caps. It would be too distracting to the thought process for a quick ten finger typist to just punch the cap locks and have at it.
Not sure if it's an oddball company, but it's the company formerly known as Ritter. Good idea Flash, I learned to type the proper way, so that would be easier for sure!

I thought it was Ritter. That's the only company that I have worked with in the last 10 years that had that requirement!
That's odd. I have done several assignments for Ritter/Alta360 recently, and have not done all caps on any of my reports. I reviewed their grammatical guidelines and did not see the requirement. I have had no problems reported back to me about them. I have noticed that my reports for National Shopping Service get converted to all caps after I submit the report and save my copy. Still, I don't recall their requirements stating that the report needed to be in all caps.

Could I have a receipt please?
National Shopping Service automatically switches my reports to all caps. I have never seen a company request it but I assume there is software out there, like whatever NSS is using, that would do this automatically.

Doing what I can to enhance the life of my family! I LOVE what I do smiling smiley
I was certainly puzzled because I have done a shop or two for Ritter but never tried to do all caps.
I could be mistaken, but if I remember correctly after submitting my properly formatted report, they system changes it to all caps.

There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data.
Yes, both Ritter and NSS have software that changes your narrative to all caps for you. Why is another question.
For their Pet Sitting Shop it does say all comments are to be uppercase....like fingernails scratching a blackboard to us!

Shopping Central Jersey Shoreline. WHAT? I'm an adult?! When did this happen?! How do I make it stop?!
You always have to remember that MSC's are not required some sort of "national" standard, at least when it comes to report formats. I'm sure they have their reasons, whether it be their report format or something else. It's all caps is what they want, that's what they'll get. Just like CSE, who wants their sentences double-spaced.
