I notice that some mystery shops are audits. How long does an audit take and what is involved?

It varies a lot by what the assignment is, size of store, etc. Some take 5 minutes, and some take several days. Can you be more specific?

I understand that a grocery store audit, might mean pricing. What would a cell phone audit entail?

I have done one where I had to get the models numbers, etc, of what they had on display.

I do gas station audits. I usually spend about two hours, but I make sure to get all the information I need AND discuss the results with the manager or person responsible in the managers absence

I have done several cell phone audits. They are easy. Just ask the associate the questions on the form and take pictures. The hardest part of this audit is matching the pictures to the questions:-)

2 Hours? Discuss results? I've audited 3 different gas companies, and the longest I've ever spent is 40 minutes and none of them require going over results.

Of course there are those newer ones where you check temps and soft drink mixes...but their pay will never be worth all that work!
