Bullseye department store shapewear shop?

Weird. For a $5 fee, you buy a set number of shapewear items. You get to keep the items with full reimbursement, but they want a video of you wearing each piece. Examples of commentary for the videos is provided.

Did I miss something, or are they looking for advertising testimonials? What if I bought the shapewear, took the video, and told the truth?

"I feel like an overstuffed kielbasa."
"This violates basic laws of physics."
"If this thing rips someone's going to lose an eye."

Would I still get paid? No returns are allowed, but if I left the tags on could I put them on eBay?

Wouldn't a video showing what you look like (shape wear or not) blow your cover as a MS'er? I don't wear shape wear but this would be a 10-foot shop for me.
Yeah, the list of people allowed to see me in my underwear is a pretty short one. I wouldn't feel comfortable with this shop either (and definitely not for $5!), even if the shape wear was super-modest.
My guess is the average pay for a "testimonial" is a lot higher than $5 and you know the pay for a model is going to be way beyond that. Of all the cheap, stupid shops I've seen, this is the cheapest and the stupidest.

Unless they have you sign a model release form (which usually needs to be witnessed and sometimes they need a photo ID with your birth date in a separate photo as well for lingerie photos), they can't use the video for commercial purposes. If they do, I think that you could sue them and collect a lot of money.

I'll bet they would pay more than $5 to NOT see me model the shape wear.

I have done this shop several times. The video does not require you to wear the items in the video. They want you to try them on at some time before you make the video so you can give your opinion of the product. The video is seperate from the shop report and not actually required.
I did several of these shops and loved it. The easiest report I've ever done. I received over $500 of the shapewear, gave some of them to my mom and my sister. I personally love the camisole and wear it a lot. FWIW, you don't have to wear the item during your testimonial. I wish I could do more of these shops.

The cheapest and stupidest??? I received over $500 of merchandise for about 15 minutes of report time. This was one of my favorite assignments.
You received over $500 of merchandise in ONE shop with a 15-minute report? How long did it take for you to drive there and back? How long did the actual shop take? All of these questions/answers cut into your profit margin.
3 shops. 5 minutes each report. I don't factor in driving because I needed to go there anyway. The shops were all located 10-20 miles from my house. Well worth it!!
Yup, cheap for a video you are allowing them to use for promotional purposes.

You do not have to be wearing the garments. You don't even *have* to do the video -- guidelines say "if you choose." I've done two of these, have lots of the products, and couldn't be happier. Let them use me for promo. I'm not photogenic, so I don't think they will. Let them quote me! I stand by what I said.

Also, they aren't going to broadcast on YouTube that "this testimonial provided by a mystery shopper." The shop is for the product, not the store, btw. What better way to get opinions (mine wasn't 100% positive, either)!

The guidelines are crystal clear and not poorly worded at all.

Good grief, if you haven't done the shop, seen how crazy easy it is, or even understand the product, stop trashing the shop! Move along. These aren't the shops you're looking for.

Hey, if they want to use my 20-second video in exchange for $500 worth of cool stuff, I couldn't care less. Cindy Crawford I am not!
Hmmm. The original post states the video is of the shopper wearing the purchase(s). It was only later someone said it was not video of the shopper wearing the product nor was it a requirement of the shop. IMO paid testimonials are unethical.

Regardless, I gave my opinion of the shop. Feel free to do with it what you will. However, I will also feel free to give my opinion on shops. As to understanding the product, what's to understand. Because some of us don't use the product doesn't mean we don't know what is or what it does.

I am currently wearing the black camisole and love them. They are super comfy and soft. Not a bad gig for ordering some products that I can share with friends.

I didn't trash the shop at all. I did say that it sounds like a 10-footer to me. Not everyone needs to or chooses to wear shape wear. For me, having to buy the merchandise would be a waste of money. I would rather use the money towards my gym membership.

Likely not. To try it on and put it on eBay with the tags attached would not be unsafe. winking smiley

I made my purchase online, no driving time or gas. The report took 5 minutes. I have 8 items and will give some away. They are soft and has a pleasant scent.

Yes, as long as it isn't tight enough or worn long enough to be any more uncomfortable than wearing a bra. There are also some brands which specialize in maternity shapewear, but I don't know if this one does or not.

I too have completed 5 of these "skincareware" shops for the Bullseye. I unfortunately can not wear the garments as I am plus size(though I did try them on and they fit) but the report literally takes 5-10 minutes, take a photo of the display, and out of the five I completed I did ONE video. I did not wear the product I showed the product in the video explaining how it worked and how my friends loved it. I've given away about $400 worth of the product to friends and family and they all love it. I understand it doesn't pay much but it is the easy report I have ever seen. And the gift value is well worth the 10 minute drive time to and from.
Now I'm jealous I have not seen this shop in the over 70 MSCs I'm registered with! Perhaps they are not doing it in my area.

I did one online purchase and one store purchase. The selection online was much smaller than I expected - there were more products in the store. Go figure! I only had to do one video. I use my iPhone and did it at the store - it is not require to wear the product for the video - who came up with that?
