$6 Cell phone shop

I really had to chuckle. I think everyone has a slightly different opinion of cell phone shops. Some are actually pretty quick and easy, but then there are some that take forever with long reports and so-so pay. I just had to laugh though when I saw a company that normally offers $9 for cell phone shops now offering them for $6. Ah -- not for me. Maybe they've super simplified them or something. I've never done a shop for this company, so I really don't have first hand experience or knowledge of their requirements, but I thought the $9 was low and to see $6 ... well, like I said, laughter!

I will not do a cell phone shop for less than $25, and only did two last month, both at $75 apiece. That said, if an MSC is getting them done for $9, then it makes sense for them to try $6. If they get 15% of them done at the lower price before going back up to the standard rate, then they've achieved far greater profits. Good for them. Their last 0.5% will still be waiting for me at my price.
Out of curiosity and because I was going to be 500 feet away, I did one of the $6 cell phone shops last evening. It is reported using a smart phone app and as such is fast and easy to report. The information which I had to gather took just a few minutes. BUT - I got lucky in that I did not have to wait in the Big Box electronics store. There is not a "maximum time to wait" specified, so this could go sour if you had to wait mo0re than maybe 5 minutes. At $6, it doesn't make sense to drive more than a mile out of your way. I view this as an acceptable filler if you are literally going to be in the neighborhood, and can be there when you think that there will not be a line. There is one quick narrative which even I could do within the smart phone app.

The $9 cell phone shop which they do is different, and I have done it in a variety of different types of stores. Again, fairly quick to report but it has two narratives which I find easier to fill out on my PC. This is not your typical cell phone shop, but it is still a filler to be done along a route you will be traveling anyway.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
I remember the olden days when cell phone shops paid $15. Believe it or not, they were from the company that eventually became Market Force and the reports were probably easier than now. Back then we didn't have to enter a bunch of information twice and any narrative was still minimal. The olden days was only ten years ago.

I still do $15 cell phone shops but not for MF. They have had a few around here surprisingly. The only part I hate is trying to take a pic of the front of the store without being spotted.
I have done cell phone shops for three different MSC's here in Canada. They range in pay from $15-$22. They usually don't take long, and I don't find the reports to be bad. They do require a narrative. Most of the time I am with the associate between 5 and 10 minutes. That being said, the last two I did took longer because I had to wait over 30 minutes to be helped. Thirty minutes is the maximum time, so I could have left. However, I was next in line, so I stayed the course. One, in particular, was my first job for a new company. I really wanted to complete that one. I have a few more coming up this month.
Coffee Queem, the only POV back in the day was a business card. When I started MSing again in 2008 the MF shops were down to around $9.

Yep. I did them for Shop N Chek too around 15 or more years ago. They always paid $15 to start.

So, $15 in 2000 and $6 in 2015. That makes no sense.
I've done several cell phone shops at $15 base rate this week. It's a new company for me, had never heard of them before the last few days. Very good to work with, clear guidelines, easy report, nice people. They're on the list at the bottom of the page. I can't remember how we met - either Jobslinger Plus or they found me.

Mary Davis Nowell. Based close to Fort Worth. Shopping Interstate 20 east and west, Interstate 35 north and south.
Wireless are still $15 and I just did a few of them last week. I did one at $14 but nothing lower.
I've done a few for $10, but it's more the wait time than anything else that makes me not want to do them for that anymore. The employee time is always around 15-20 minutes and I don't mind that, but I hate the 20 minute+ wait times. Most of the ones I do nowadays are for $15 and I'm happy with that.
