The shop location is defaulting to a closer location, I have sent an urgent message to the help desk, has any one ever had this happen on a web delivery? Thanks!

You can't get a delivery for a location that is out of your delivery zone unless you are having them deliver it to a library, your office, school, etc. Are you saying that you have two different locations that will deliver to your home? That is really strange, I have never heard of that. Is this for Papa John's? You can say the name of the client since you haven't named the MSC.
Yes Papa John's. It shows as a location to chose in my zip code in delivery area, then when I proceed it defaults to closest one... sigh smiling smiley

Have you had this location deliver to your house before? Maybe they don't, regardless of whether they are in your zipcode or not. *67 your phone number to block your name and number from the caller ID, call them, and ask if they deliver to your address (or give your neighbor's address). If they do, wait an hour or so then try it again. I am thinking they don't deliver to your house or the website would not default to your location I am going to guess the MSC is out of the office since it's Sunday. Did you try calling them? If you call you will get a recorded message if they are out of the office, if someone is there you will get someone on the phone smiling smiley If someone's in the office, they might be able to change it to a carryout.
Could not get them to answer phone at that assigned location, I will keep trying and keep you posted. Thank you! Blessings.
Try to call your MSC. I think I know which one it is, although there is more than 1 MSC that shops that client. But if they aren't answering their phone, there may be another reason why it's defaulting to a different location...like a kitchen fire, water main break, etc. If the location is temporarily closed for some other reason than that might be why.
I am thinking they will have to reschedule the shop or accept the other location. I called and talk to a manger (blocked caller ID, it was funny at first they won't answer cuz blocked lol) and he said it would have to be like 6-7 full price pizzas for that farther distance. Thank you for your help! I will wait to hear back or just order for my family myself as I don't believe that would be a valid shop. smiling smiley

I emailed the help desk right away, and now emailed several of the schedulers that I had email names on old emails to. I hope not to annoy them but just am trying to see if they can salvage the shop. Thanks!
This pretty much constitutes an emergency, no one is going to be annoyed. Schedulers like shoppers who let them know what's going on. They might have some phone numbers to give you to reach your scheduler or someone else who can help.

If the other location is not on your MSCs list (some locations aren't shopped or are shopped by a different MSC) then you are going to have to get someone with your MSC to change the location to a carryout and complete it as such.
I have never done a delivery, web or telephone, for a store that is further away than a closer location. I have always done carry out on that store, but only when they are desperate. They said calling that store and asking for delivery would just send the order to the closer store.

I guess if you have to get it done today, you could change your address to a friend, the library or office nearer the other store, and then have to be there when they deliver.

If it is the same company I do these for they are often flexible on which type of shop you take so now that you know this location is not your delivery location ask next time if you can pick up.
Thanks Sandy. I had done this prev with a diff MSC, and this other company called me when I was driving and I had done shops with them, so I accepted over the phone just based off the street name. Figures there was more than one on that street in this small town! smiling smiley grinning smiley
I agree, if this is for the pizza chain we all think it is (botox juan)... you have to order from the closest location. The MSC will not make an exception and this is not an emergency to them. The requirements always say the location must deliver to your address (or you have to have them deliver to somewhere in their delivery zone). They seem to rotate and the one that delivers to my house is not always available but I know I can't try to order from a further location.
Hi grille, I beg to differ about the emergency thing (the rest of what you said is correct). If you have a shop due today and can't shop it because it's a delivery and they don't deliver to your house, any of the 3 MSCs who shop this client do consider it pretty urgent to help you get the shop done in a timely manner. Been doing these sops for close to 10 years now for various MSCs. Two of the three MSCs are generally not available on Sundays unless it's a deadline weekend, which it's not, being so early in the month.
This pizza store chain does not have overlapping delivery territories. Only the "assigned" (by geography) store will deliver to you. Generally it will be the closest. It is also possible that no store will deliver to you. That is my situation. I am about 7 miles from each of 3 stores, and none of them will deliver to me. My experience is that the schedulers have no idea at all regarding delivery zones and will be happy to assign to you whatever you are willing to accept. Several have told me to have it delivered to a park, or to work, etc. One ever told me that have it delivered to a gas station parking lot, and told me (no joke) that shoppers often pick gas stations so that they can take the pizza inside the bathroom to take the photos in case it rains.

Because it's not a deadline weekend and fairly early in the month, that's why I did not think it would be considered an emergency smiling smiley but I see where you're coming from.

Oh, myst4au, that's nasty. I would never take food or drink into any restroom, not even mine at home which I know is clean!!! Have you ever watched the show "Dirty Jobs"? That guy Mike Rowe was discussing the number of germs that are hurled through the air every time that a toilet gets flushed. Ever since I saw that I make sure the lid is closed on the toilet before flushing and all of my toiletry items are in a drawer when I am not using them. You may as well just clean the toilet with your toothbrush, since it's wet and will attract the airborne bacteria. And convenience store restrooms generally do not have lids on their toilets. It also seems like it would be a red flag to the delivery driver that you are the shopper, unless you claim to work at the gas station, which since you won't be dressed in uniform is rather unbelievable. I do know a girl who does merchandising work at WalMart part time who orders a pizza to be delivered there...since she has her company name badge it's a little more plausible.

Ugh, I am just disgusted LOL
I'd suggest having it delivered to a park, library, hospital lobby, etc. to salvage the shop. Though the one time I did that, they had a technical issue that left me waiting at the park almost an hour. It was dark and cold and drunk people from a kickball tournament kept talking to me. At least all the kickball players made it look less weird that I was having a pizza delivery at a park.

And then she brought the pizza unsliced, which was no big deal since I was just taking it home, but I thought was a pretty funny mistake to make when delivering to a location where customers are very unlikely to have a pizza cutter.

We are all here on earth to help others....What on earth the others are here for I don't know.

One thing I do not like: Web Shops for Pizza. When I completed checkout, the grand total of the pizza was $18.00! No coupons, no nothing!. I won't do of the Web Pizza Shop again. tongue sticking out smiley

I actually prefer the web shops over calling. All of the promos (coupons or texts) I get usually say, "Online Only," so I can't use them when I call. Sometimes I play dumb and they will give me the deal anyway, if they can. Also, with web orders, I get rewards points. Although I am just earning points towards more free pizza, at least we don't hate it. Also, the free pizzas have more leeway with toppings, crust, etc., so we can order what we want, instead of what we have to get for the guidelines. I get reimbursed either way for the pizza, so I only try to use coupons to make me more like a typical shopper. I already overshop my local store, as it is. Also, I think the web order scenario is a little easier to report.

@SunnyDays2 is right though, about the price. I the place I shop is the most overpriced of all the chains. After tax and the delivery fee, I am into it for almost $21 for a large, 2 topping pizza. That is why I think no sane person would ever order without a coupon or promo. I have actually turned down promos over the phone for 2 larges because I didn't want to be out of pocket. I also won't do these for at least some fee attached.

I live about a half mile from my delivery location and there is another location about a mile from me. I constantly get emails asking me to take a delivery job at the further one but I know they will not be the place to deliver so I just ignore those. As someone who eats the pizza I get but does not love the pizza I have no interest in driving over even the half mile to do a pick up since there is no fee attached and the web orders are easy. Delivery runs me $23 plus a tip for that okay but not great smallish pizza so I will not do it without a bonus even if I have coupons just in case they do not work that day.
$18 bucks is hard for me to pay when I know I can get a medium at "another famous chain" for $8-$10- (depending on the special) They even have 2 pizzas for $12.00! smiling smiley
I just did this shop last month with a $18 bonus and my pizza was only $10.89 I wonder why it was so cheap for me.
I think the cost for pizza varies from place to place but in my case the pizza is $17.95 without a coupon, Outrageous as a really good 18 inch pizza is available directly across the street from my local Papa Johns at Costco for $9.99. You do not even have to be a member to buy it. Add to that fee the $3.95 delivery fee and the tax and tip and you are over the delivery reimbursement every time by quite a lot. Coupons are not always available . If I wanted to do pickup and save the delivery charge I could be just under the reimbursement.
I am curious what the "regular" pizza charge is where you live. Is it just my place that charges so much? I live in West Los Angeles.
This client has many specials so the price just depends on which one they have that day. I have paid as little as $11 up to $21 for the same pizza depending on the promotion.
