Scam - clientsonlinesurvey.com sent check and job offer "from" Walmart. These scams are getting more legitimate looking...New Shoppers beware!

Has anyone else received or heard anything about this?
I received a letter with an enclosed check for $1953.30 (yes...you read right) and instructions to activate the check and survey online at www.clientsonlinesurvey.com
The check appears to be from Walmart and is drawn on a nationally known bank. Instructions for the "job" are vague with directions to generate the survey online and check online. The letter states that there are three parts to the "job" and the "participation pay" for the first week is $350. There are also references to items that you will be purchasing that you will be allowed to keep. Any seasoned shopper will recognized this for the scam that it is but for those new to MS....I expect there will be more than a few that deposit this authentic looking check.
I was very disappointed that Walmart did not even return an email as a courtesy when I advised them their name was being used in this manner and a check sent listing them as the drawer.

This is terrible, and very scary. Who knows how many unsuspecting people - especially the elderly, or folks who are in a desperate financial situation might fall for this. sad smiley
I wouldn't get too upset with Walmart for not replying. Considering that billions of spammy emails are sent daily, if only a fraction of recipients complained to companies about emails, whether spammy or scammy, it would simply take too much time to reply to them all - especially this time of year. I'm sure they're happy you didn't fall for it.

Yeah, really, Walmart is going to send a literal stranger such a big check? You're right, anybody with a grain of sense would recognize this as an obvious scam. Those people should get a life, and get a real job. What a waste. But if they contact me, I've got some really nice swampland in Florida that I can offer them for the amazing bargain price of $1953.30.
I got an email supposedly from somebody who had found me on Shadow Shopper, where I was supposed to send money via Walmart and I would get paid $250.00. Well I figured it for a scam because I never see the opportunity to make $250.00 from a shop I have never shopped before. I had already gotten screwed doing a shop like this where I had to send money off and then get reimbursed from intellishop, and they are a legitimate MSC so I figured it was a scam and told them I figured it was a scam. I never heard back from them, so be aware folks that is another one that is out there.

Shopping til' I drop, no joke here!
Good for you, aprilredbird. Another one not fooled. I so prefer hearing from those who did not fall for a scam over those who did.

If people would look at it like this: Would (you) send a complete stranger a check for almost $2,000 dollars in another country, expect him to cash it and send you back $1,800? It's pure logic to me. smiling smiley
