Hallelujah!

I thought I might have accidentally dropped some directions to my shop locations and shop guidelines in one of my locations, but it turns out I JUST LEFT THEM BY MY HOME COMPUTER. Fortunately, i was able to get everywhere I needed to go, anyway. I thought for sure that at least one, possibly two of my MSCs were going to kill me. Anybody else had a near-miss like that?

more than once smiling smiley My STUPID HUGE Garmin isn't working properly and I have begun slamming it around for keeping me totally lost 50 miles from home!
No, every time I don't have them with me I know exactly where they are...on my desk next to my computer. That has happened plenty of times. And if I don't know where I am going, I always look at both Mapquest and Rand McNally to see if they jive, and I print one of those out in addition to using my GPS, because generally one of them is going to be wrong. But I would have a panic attack if I thought I had lost them IN A STORE. How did you happen to have them in the store? I always leave mine in the car.
I don't print mine all that often but when I do, I keep them in my gigantic purse. It takes about ten minutes just to find my keys so for someone to accidentally see the shop requirements would be low risk. Maybe the OP was afraid she dropped them in the bathroom or something.

I also sometimes keep my guidelines zipped into the pocket of a gigantic bag, and like Cecilia, I tend to have to go digging for things. In this circumstance, I had to go digging through my bag at one point for a piece of scratch paper, as I was also required to have my phone turned off. Because a certain incident in another part of the store temporarily required my attention, I was worried that I might have left my notes in a fitting room, where I was required to record certain events and timings. All this actually was was directions from one of the client's locations to another, plus a few required questions for a different client's shop at a different location---not the whole extent of the printed guidelines, just directions to the locations and a few notes for the second client because that was a new shop. If an astute employee had picked it up and read it, however, they might have noticed the reference/directions to a second location and seen the evaluation questions I was supposed to ask at the third-party client's location. I also didn't have access to a personal vehicle that day, so I had to make do.
When I do grocery shops, I always take notes. Before my smart phone, I'd use a paper shopping list. The list was always in the front compartment of my coupon holder.

One time, I got home and didn't have the coupon holder. I remembered putting it on top of the car before I left the store.

Amazingly, the coupon holder made it almost to my neighborhood and had fallen off onto the road. Unfortunately, it had been hit and coupons, receipts, and my notes had blown around. I literally ran around the road and in adjacent yards picking up coupons until I finally found my receipt and my notes. They were wet, but usable once they dried.

Whew!
Just the other day I did a bank shop. I did not have an account with this bank. This was a Platform shop, so I gave a different name, not my name. I went to the ATM to get a receipt, took out my wallet for my ATM Card. This shop was clear across town. When I got to the second bank I went to pull out my wallet. NO wallet! I panicked, they would have opened my wallet to get my real name. I went back to my car and there was my wallet on the seat! YES!

Oh, geez! I'm glad you weren't hurt. The things we do in the MS world....
Actually, I put my guidelines/paperwork in folders and walk them out to my car every morning, along with a bottle of water and a fully charged GPS and phone. I am prehistoric that way! smiling smiley
IF I print out the shop questionnaire, I'll put that in my bag and have it with me. IF I forget the instructions, I'll log into the site to find the address.

It helps that I am very familiar with the areas I do my shops in, so its rare when I do have to figure out where I am going.....

With the airport shops I do, I write the shops down in a notebook....including the Gate Number....at a bigger airport like we have in Chicago, I am realizing that there are multiple shops in the same terminal (sometimes really close by...like by the next gate).

Silver certified (since 2009) and willing to do shops all around the greater Chicago, NW Indiana, and Southern Wisconsin areas (including airports!.
It was a blustery day and I opened my car door and half of my paperwork for several shops flew into the parking lot. Here I was running through the parking lot chasing these papers and trying not to get hit at the same time! I finally got them all but one that kept eluding me that some kind woman finally grabbed for me. It's funny now but wasn't at the time. I now keep all paperwork secured in a binder (when I remember to bring it lol).
The windy day story happened to me with a shop receipt. It blew across the parking lot and out into the highway. Fortunately, I have not lost any shop paperwork.
