Five Guys Screening questions

I answered them the same as I always have. Yes to all the "I understand" questions, and no to the previous employment and medical condition questions.

Now I'm ineligible based on my answers. I even backed up and looked at the questions. Nothing new, no trick questions.

Any one else have this happen?

Yes! smiling smiley It happened last night. Today, I was eligible again and grabbed a Five Guys. I thought I had answered all the questions correctly last night. But even so, I think there was an error on their end because it said I could not shop for a certain period of time for any Five Guys because I answered the question(s) wrong. But yet, the next day I was able to.... I don't think it was you. smiling smiley
And today the shops were back. Sounds like they had a bit of a problem yesterday. Glad to know it wasn't me.
So I have reason to be next door to a Five Guys at noon week days. This location has been open a year give or take. In the last week the people count at 12 noon highest count has been...... ONE!
Same thing happened to me. I just shrugged as I don't much like 5 guys food anyway, but felt something had gone wrong on their end.
I went to Five Guys the other day. I had to go 30 mins before closing. A hassle but I did it. Anyway, now when you fill out the form for them, at the end of the report they have a sentence that says something about if this is information is not correct, they will sue you in civil court. I was honest and did as they asked, but that just hit a nerve with me. Not sure I will go see them again.
I had the same thing happen with the MSC's cell phone company. Answered all the screening questions, then was told I wasn't qualified for 'this round'. I was bummed, because I wanted to apply for a mall location that fit nicely into one of my shopping days.

I figured it might have been some sort of technical issue as I was able to pick up a shop the next day.

Sadly, this is because shoppers say they checked the restroom, when they didn't. Shoppers say they stayed 15 minutes after the food was ready and they didn't. Shoppers said they stayed near the front to hear their number called and they didn't.

If the store does not have a shopper paying attention and doing the required checks, it hurts the store's score when a shopper says, "There were no managers ( gray/white shirts) It took 20 minutes for my burger." (shopper was in restroom when her number was called or was talking on her call phone).

If you do the shop by the guidelines, you should never worry about being civilly prosecuted for falsifying a report, that a client has paid you for doing. smiling smiley
I just did a five guys the other day and noticed that the report was a bit easier to fill out now that they've taken out some of the milkshake questions. I liked the option of being able to get a milkshake or not, but having to fill out the questions about what time of day you would get a milkshake even if you didn't order one this time seemed tedious. I think they streamlined the other questions a bit too....

I've had that happen when trying to sign up via the smartphone and being told my answers made me ineligible. Then I went upstairs on the desktop and signed right up.
The same thing happened to me just this morning. I wanted to apply to shop the location nearest me, but after I got through the screening questions, was told I was ineligible based on my answers. I could've sworn I read and answered them all carefully, but then figured maybe I ticked the wrong circle. Five minutes later, I decided to apply for a shop at the Five Guys a little further way, wondering what would happen if I accessed the screening questions through a different shop, but thinking that if I was ineligible for one, I'd be ineligible for all of them. Well, lo and behold, the system let me take the "test" again. I passed this time, and took that shop. Now it seems I'm eligible for the other location, too, but as much as I love Five Guys, I don't think I can manage two meals there within four days.... (Never thought I'd say that, but it's true.)

Maybe they just want to see who's determined to shop Five Guys before they let you pass the screening!

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.

I hate the fact that I have to schedule Five Guys so far in advance. I'm going to go have a 1 1/4 lb Maine lobster dinner tomorrow and then go to Five Guys for lunch the next day. Then I need to go eat a Burrito and a sack of chips by the end of the week. Too much unhealthy food in too short a period of time.

Or even worse, eating at Five Guys at 9:30 PM at night! tongue sticking out smiley

The MSC was indeed having trouble with screenings. I did the screening for a premium fee and failed it. I thought nothing about it, just figured I had not paid attention. A couple of days later, I got a call asking me to do the shop, offering a few additional dollars. I told the scheduler what had happened and he confirmed what we already figured out.

I don't see this message today (2/16) at the bottom of the report. Do you still see the warning? I called [MSC deleted] and hotline rep did not see the warning either.

Mod note: As the client has been already mentioned, please do not reveal the MSC. It is against forum rules and an ICA violation.

I saw it today. It's there every time. It just basically says to be honest about what you are reporting or you will be civilly prosecuted for any false reporting. This is not a big deal. Just be honest. smiling smiley Another poster worried about it. Why?

Mod note: MSC company name deleted
Why? How about one of the many cases of he said/she said we have with mystery shopping. Unless it is a video shop or the store shopped employs both video and audio surveillance, how exactly do you prove your honesty?

As long as there is going to be mystery shopping, you are going to have two things:

1. Shoppers who fabricate reports
2. Employees who say your report is incorrect and they "dispute" the report.

#1. A dishonest shopper will eventually be discovered.

#2. As long as employees "jobs are on the line" some of them are likely to dispute your report. It's part of the business as a mystery shopper, that your report "could be" contested. (I realize video is harder to dispute, if not impossible).I have not performed video shops so I can't quote on the % of them disputed.

As shoppers, we have all likely had at least one shop disputed or a report contested. Just stand by what you reported. For example purposes, I have always been paid after a dispute. (out of 4,000 shops, I think 3 were disputed) The key is to be highly aware of your surroundings because I have had "odd questions" asked of me, (I suppose to prove I was there).smiling smiley
Look at your report.

And to whoever asked about how they could prove it without being a video shopper I do know they use their video and will challenge accordingly.

Would you please send me a link to where you see this? Thanks!
This also happened to me months ago. I called and they said there was nothing they could do and that I would not be able to accept assignments for 30 days. 3 days later the shops I wanted were again posted and I was able to perform the shops.
I had the same glitch with the 5 Guys shops application. The next day, I was able to apply again and all was well. Computers ARE sometimes effed up! ;-)
