I purchased my car at a dealership where I did a shop. I now regularly get my oil changes there, sometimes on a shop and sometimes on my own dime.
I did the same when I needed a new car. I also went to Merrill Lynch when I decided to get into investing, swear by BareMinerals translucent powder, and regularly patronize three restaurants now I didn't know about before.
All because of mystery shopping.
I decided to consolidate my accounts after doing a Merrill Edge shop! I initially wanted to do it with my credit union, but realized how bad they were. The bank that I shopped a lot is my new bank. Ironically, the service was not as good when I went in on my own. It wasn't bad, but some key things that I looked at as a mystery shopper were apparent.
