Didn't get manager's last name

I did a car shop & got all the required info EXCEPT the manager's last name. He was not wearing a nametag and he didn't tell me his last name. The msc deducted 1 point because I didn't have his last name. He told me his first name and I think it would have been a give-away if I asked him for his last name. What would you have done?

I would have asked for his business card. I, too, would not have asked for his last name. But if they only deducted a point, don't fret about it....

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
you can always say something like...you look like you could be related to a guy/girl I dated...your last name wouldn't be 'Denney' would it? and hope he gives it up.
or you could realize its intellishop and you were going to lose a point anyway just would have been for something else.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.

Yes, I thought about asking for his business card...but I thought that since I already had the salesman's card it would look too suspicious. Oh well....I don't really care about the 1 point.

Of course!! I know!!!! You have to expect that from them (although I have gotten a 10 sometimes).

ANYTHING that they can deduct a point for, they do!

Would you have been allowed to call the business and ask for Joe the manager but ask them his last name to make sure you have the right manager, because you plan to return? smiling smiley

You're right...I should have done that.
That's what I would have done Sunny. I would have called and asked the receotionist for the guys last name. But, like everyone has stated...if it was Intellishop they would find a reason to ding you. You're lucky if they accepted your report without asking you more and more questions. That's their MO. I did a $95 car shop for them last December. Test drove a Beemer during a snow storm. The report was accepted without questions and I was given a 10. BUT, this MSC is now on my 10' pole list. Make that 20'. They have new editors. Editors thatt are being trained at OUR expense. They've accused me of falsifying a picture and told me I had to ask questions that are not in the guidelines. The last shop I did they rejected for no valid reason. The scheduler tried to get the report reinstated, to no avail. He offered to bonus me for the next batch of shops to make up for it. He did remove the rejection score from my record. I didn't accept his offer of the bonus. I decided $7 fee was not worth the aggravation of working with their editors. I'm stress free this month as a result. i think the OP got lucky! Accept the one point deduction as a blessing. You didn't get harassed like so many of us have reported on this forum.

Shopping up and down the Colorado Rocky Mountain front range.

I had 2 points deducted because the editor did not open the pictures I submitted. The thumbnails didn't look like the photos in the guidelines. Had the editor actually opened the pictures to full size, he would have seen that the pics were correct. He finally did, but deducted points.
