Best Buy audit and Target Price Audit

Has anyone done these audits? The best Buy pays $95 and the Target Price audit is $40. I'm thinking about doing these but what do these audits entail?

I just completed a Target Audit.... its pretty straight forward. You go to target and you take pictures of all the items within your category. You then input the data into the system using either their mobile app or on their site. The shop is revealed so no employee interaction is required.

The mobile app can also be used the scan the UPC codes of the items at the store and input the data there. To be honest though the mobile app is slow as heck so its not that useful (atleast in the target stores I've audited).

To be honest I've done these audits over the years but $40 isn't worth it.... get a bonus. They tell you in the guidelines there will be 100-300 items per store. Imagine sitting at your desk or whatever answering the same 8 questions about 100-300 items. Thats right.. they are easy questions but that is 800-2400 entries.

Your call if its worth your time. Hopefully this helps.

Now there appear to be 2 types of Best Buy audits - depends on who working for.
Really check into it and you may wish to wait until money is increased.
I tried one at Target too. I found it almost impossible. As you said, that "APP" did not work, and apparently most auditors don't even try to use it. I was not sure which numbers to record and... later after asking many questions of the scheduler, I was told that I used the wrong location selection and that bulk was wrong. There were 3 choices for each product " End Cap, bulk or free standing" none of which was clearly just an aisle spot. I never went back to try to correct several hundred redundant listings, and just considered it was a gross waste of my time and energy. Good luck if you try doing them.

The full BB audit is usually the $95. The audio audit is $40 at BB and Target. I do a few full BB audits a month so I figured the audio one would be a snap. I was way wrong. It really is a lot of data for the pay. I tried the one at Target and although less items it felt weird trying to take pics without looking suspicious. I think I will stick to the full audits instead.
This type of audit at Target is something that really falls into the merchandising end of things. How would you know the difference between a side cap, endcap, inline, wing, shipper, check lane, bulk , or promotional display? They need to show example photos to give you a fair chance of figuring out which is which. I do price audits ONLY when revealed and short simple ones. I salute those of you that can do the 6 to 8 hour ones!
The Wi-Fi usually works best near the café area at Target. Front of store at Walmart.
I did both audits at Best Buy one for 50.00 did not get paid they said I did not audit the store. In the guidelines it says to audit five sections stereo, sound bars, audio ,computer, speakers. take pictures all sale items. that is what I did.It takes more time to find the items and the app does not work. I had to go home finish job at home.
I was told to correct a couple of arrears so I went in the website corrected them. The points read 10/10 so I thought I did the job right. When I recheck the website a week later it said I did not audit the store. This is the second time I did this job, I do not think I will do Best Buy jobs This job took me over seven hours by the time I enter all information in the computer.
I do the Audits at Target. Taking the photos, I do not even pay attention to the clerks any longer. I take my photos, in sections One of each 4-foot sections then the close-ups within that section of the tags. Get home and it may sound like extra work but using the photos downloaded on the computer(it helps to blow then up larger) copy the info to PAPER. Handwritten-then transfer this info to the web site. I tried the APP and forget it. that just makes it worst.

Shopping Southern Georgia, Valdosta, Waycross, Quitman, Thomasville and North Central Florida I-10 & I-75.
Hi! I am going to do a price audit at BB next week. Why does the app not work? I have always used it for the full BB audit and its been fine. I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this audit before I get there!! Thanks
