Never tried it, but I'll have to see if it's available around here!

Last month I can guarantee I gained a minimum of 10lbs and it's because I didn't have my road snacks in the car. Normally I spend the last weekend of every month preparing my road snacks I make a ton of hummus and have a variety of cut veggies. When I have enough cash and time I make my own jerky.

I didn't get it done last month, so not only did I eat things that aren't good for me, I paid over the top for the privilege

The month of May will be different.

I congratulate the OP for realizing what happened and catching it before it was a huge health risk. Kudos to you sir.

My lesson is this: eat only when hungry. This means I have to limit the food shops because sometimes those shops are scheduled for times when I do not need to eat anything. This is good for me.

I do mostly food and grocery shops. I too put on weight as a result. Whenever possible I bring a friend and we split the meal.
Yup, Five guys, chipotle, smashburger and Chipotle. Walking 18 holes on a hilly course should help.
I have diabetes so I must be judicious in my food choices. When I do the FG shops, I order BLT's and only eat a couple of those terrible, delectable fries. I know exactly how much insulin is required for this meal and that makes it easy to take on this shop without guilt. There are ways to manage your food, folks. I've been doing it for 26 years, since I was told I had Type II diabetes at the age of 34. Originally, my doctor told me to try controlling my diabetes with diet alone. I tried, and lost 35 pounds and avoided having to go on any medication for a year. That didn't last; my four year old son was diagnosed with Type I diabetes in 1987. My own illness fell by the wayside as I fought to bring my son's diabetes under control. I ended up on one pill, then two, then on insulin plus the pills, then on a drug called Bondureon in addition to the pills and insulin. I'm in excellent control now, with very little in the way of side effects. My son, now 33, is on an insulin pump and doing very well. We can eat anything we want, but still must be careful not to overdo the carbs.
For all the money I "saved" by eating out on my dining shops, I paid back to Weight Watchers to lose the weight.
I do fast food shops every two months, and the occasional fine dining and casual restaurant shops when I can get them. Fortunately in my area I have a lot of gym mystery shops that require me to ask for 7-day passes as part of the scenarios, so I use those to get free workouts. Plus I got rid of my car last year and now walk to all my jobs. That's how I'm able to keep my weight down.

I've lost weight since MS'ing without really trying. Between my FT job and the added MS'ing, I really don't have much time to eat. I snack on fresh fruit, low-fat mozzarella sticks and the occasional Kind bar to keep my energy levels steady.

I was 200 pounds a year ago, 240 three years ago. I am down to 165 pounds on average now. I perform fast food and casual food shops all the time. I maintained my core muscle, lost fat and liquid of course. I have my blood tested, I am much healthier.

As I have posted many times; if you avoid the bad carbs and learn how to make the rest of the meal work for you, then you can eat healthy almost anywhere. I eat a high fat, moderate protein, low carb diet.

I used to eat lots of salad, veges, potatoes, skinless chicken breat, etc... the traditional high carb low fat bad for you diet the government and ill informed doctors prescribe. I could not get below 190, was always hungry and was not healthy. You can be 150 pounds, yet be all skin and fat = unhealthy; or 180 pounds with muscle and low fat = healthy.

Truer words have never been spoken!
I took way too many fast food shops when I first started shopping because it was awesome to get free meals! But I also gained weight, so I cut back on them, and sometimes when I still do them I only take the required few bites of each item to report on quality.
On my last Five Guys Burgers and Fries' receipt I saw they are giving away $25.00 gift cards monthly to Five Guys Burgers and Fries to 10 lucky people who fill out a survey at www.fiveguys.com/survey. You actually can enter this contest without making a purchase. I've never gotten $25.00 payment for doing a shop for them. I have done quite a few shops for them. Sweepstakes ends 12/31/16. That seems unfair to the shoppers who have accepted less payment.

Why would you find this unfair to shoppers? Customers who fill out these surveys are not all paid with a $25 gift card for their visit. Many may enter the contest multiple times without making a purchase. Only 10 people out of the thousands who enter the contest will get the gift card. On the other hand, shoppers are paid a small fee and a reimbursement EVERY time they perform a shop. Shoppers are professionals who make a personal/professional decision that the fee and reimbursement constitute fair payment for the shop.

This gift card give away for completing a survey is similar to the one the MSC that has Five Guys gives away for completing their monthly surveys, and only shoppers registered with the MSC can participate. The gift cards are a contest, certainly not payment.
Look at it this way, those gift cards are only going to 10 people. They contract for a lot more than ten shops. They also are not interested in building goodwill with the folks they pay to evaluate their services.

I have been doing "a sandwich shop" for the last 3 weeks. I try to do 4 to 6 of these a day. So... if I didn't watch what I was eating I'd have gained weight. But I order the required items and then just toss anything that has carbs outside of veggies. I have been bring in my own throw away fork so I can eat everything out of the sandwich but not eat the bread/ wrap (carbs). Lost 6 pounds so far!!
I look for a family that has kids. I know they'd like to have more fries but the cost stops them. I tell them that I wanted a few but I know the "little fries" is still to BIG for me and if I shake out a few from my bag would they want the rest. So far, noooo one has turned me down!
well, If you are doing low carb high fat, yes, all that you are doing is unhealthy for me... just saying
Hmmm.. 5 guys offers a "boat" which means no bun... 300 calories less. The hamburger meal is basically all no carb and high fat. I assure you, if you follow high fat low carb you won't gain doing these shops winking smiley
I don't think we are allowed to do the surveys on the receipts. Usually it is the same MSC that shops them.
A scheduler just called me to do an online shop for Five Guys with a bonus of $25 for tomorrow. I tried making a pretend order to test out the app, and before I could make an order I get a "This store is currently not accepting orders." I tested the app on all the other locations and I was able to make an order. I emailed the help desk but I'm not sure how fast they will respond. This happen to anyone? This is very upsetting and I won't be able to sleep tonight.

All this talk about Five Guys shops makes me sad that I will never do them unless they change MSC.
I've tried to cut down on the Five Guys' shops, but they keep calling me with great bonuses, and I often say yes.! But I always order the bowl (or the veggie sandwich), and this last time, I ordered the single-patty one. Usually they just give me the regular double, but this was the first time I was asked if I wanted single or double, so I took the single. I was going to order the small fries, but my son asked me to bring home leftover fries. I ordered the regular size, and had to exercise a great deal of willpower to limit my intake of them! (I love those fries!)

So, I'm trying to eat as wisely as possible on these shops, but this week I did a pizza buffet with the family (but that was my lunch and dinner, and I didn't eat as much as I wanted to!), a Five Guys, and a Chipotle.

I need to stop this; I told my husband I would cook dinner tonight, and he asked if I remember how to cook.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!

I received a phone call from a scheduler who depended on me to go to a large brew house dinner shop at least twice a month. I knew that was the root of my weight gain.

The reimbursement was allowing me to order anything on the menu. After the bar drink, I'd split a huge chicken quesadilla with yellow rice and beans with sour cream. Then a dinner salad with dressing. Next came steak, lobster, or ribs with a baked potato and then I always needed room for the ice cream cake desert that was too good to not finish.

Must have been over 2,500 calories in that meal. Sure, I could have left off the dressing on the salad or swapped out the spud for steamed veggies. I will only take this shop every other month now and consider it my splurge meal. At one time I was out of rotation for all 13 locations within 15 miles of me. This franchise started in my city and they are everywhere.
All I can say is that the food shops make my pregnancy cravings happy... LOL Just had an applebees shop yesterday and with my family out of town, that $40 reimbursement went a long way and I have lunch & dinner tomorrow too :-) I can't say on the weight gain though... I blame it on my unborn child :-)
One of my friends made this for our lunch one day. She's from Canada and that's the only way she would eat fries. Years later, I started seeing it on menus. I've seen it called Gravy Fries, Hobo Fries, and, of course, Poutine.

It is delicious!

One word "poutine"

Throw the fries on cookie sheet and pop them in the oven, while they are heating make some gravy and coarsely grate some cheese (I like a mix of mozzarella and mild cheddar) once the fries are hot smother with cheese and ladel on the gravy. I like mine served with white vinegar . It will change your life (ok it might shorten it to).

Lol sorry for the off topic, especially considering the thread title, but it is my favourite way to use up old fries.

I know what you mean. With food shops, I now trim the carbs where I can, lighten up or remove the junk, then go from there. I also upgrade to a road bike to commute to work and certain shops, depending on the day. Ended up gaining 20 lbs of bad weight in 2 years.... Now that I'm hitting the gym back up more regularly, I should be in much better shape soon.
