What happens when postal shop is contested?

I did a hazmat postal shop a few weeks ago that is still pending when all the others have been OKed for pay. Knowing what happened on the shop, I'm feeling pretty confident someone is contesting or looking at it. Does anyone have experience with these shops being contested? What should I expect? I quoted what the clerk said to me in my description so there isn't much more I could add even if asked, but I'd like to know what's headed my way.

My own experience is that they came up with an excuse to not pay me for the shop then a scheduler also saw fit to chew me out. I won't shop for the company any more because of it but it's your own choice to make.

I can't see how it could be contested. You present the scenario and they either ship it or you buy stamps - either way you get a receipt showing that you were there. If they really do have video tape, they can see that you entered with a package, and either left with or without it.

I have had a large number of HazMat packages accepted. They seem to vary in how long the move to "OK to pay."

The MSC does not require that you tell them what was said once the HazMat package was accepted by the main client unless something unusual happened that was not covered earlier in the survey. Since there is no comment box associated with the actual acceptance, I consider that no comment is expected.

If a HazMat package is accepted at an Authorized Shipping location, there is a comment required. My comment in those locations is usually something to the effect of "The clerk asked me what was in the box. I said xxxx and that is what the clerk typed into their terminal and that is what appears on the receipt." Sometimes what I tell them gets "translated" into a word like "gift" or "present" or "spray deodorant". Guess what liquid I said that I was supposedly shipping! smiling smiley

Edit to add the word "spray" - that is what made it so funny when I read it.

Yes, that is how all my other shops went but not this one. This was a main client but the way I answered the questions on the report prompted a required comment. My comment stated what the clerk told me to do and my response. Maybe you're right and it's just taking a little more time. I'm always more nervous when it's a report where things don't go well.
Well, the shop got kicked back from second editing because the zip code on the building didn't match the receipt and job. This mismatch isn't unusual in my area and the editor wasn't sure why it got kicked back for it. I explained that there was no zip code on the outside of the building but was in small lettering on the window with some other information. She said next time to put 00000 in the space and if there is a discrepancy in zip code to write an explanation it in the comments. (These are different directions than I was given by the scheduler the first time I came across a mismatch).
I don't feel Cettie is wining or bashing. I believe her experience was laid out in another thread. Well I don't dislike this msp I do find they have been hard to deal with at times. There was some times they were late paying and other times where it took forever to get the reports reviewed and on an instance they did not want to pay due to an issue beyond my control at the site of a shop. I also had difficulty getting the reimbursement portion once which took an extra 3 weeks after the original fee was paid. There has also been discussion about applying only to have to re apply as they took shops down and put them up over and over. Read some other discussions ParkCityBrian and you will see that neither Cettie nor me is alone. Also why are most of your post attacking in nature.

i just happen to be a stickler when it comes to calling out those who make grandiose generalizations while lacking specifics which happens to be the way he/she conducts life on this blog. as far as issues with this msc and their scheduling company i would be very surprised if you had contacted the president of the scheduling company (who is a frequent contributor to this blog) and she had not resolved or explained whatever issues you have had in the past. and, if you didn't bother then the onus is on you.
i always like the glass being half full (of gasoline and I have a match) of whatever. If wine it means you have a head start.
I have talked to both the president of the scheduling company and was able to resolve my issues. As I said I don't dislike this MSP or the scheduling company. I was simply stating that at times they do have situations which have made working with them not completely smooth. As for the last few months they have been much better and completely smooth.
