Buffalo Wild WIngs

I used to do BWW mystery shops. Then, being a man taking care of 2 small children alone, I didn't have time to search which other company took over. I'm french and on June 10, the Euro soccer tournament is starting for 1 month. I live in Miami, I don't have cable TV, and I would love to watch France games at BWW. Hopefully, there won't be a jihadist attack at the Euro in France. I know you can't tell the company name, but can someone tell me the initial(s) of the mystery shop company that does BWW (maybe in a personal message, if it's
possible) ?

All of those would be a violation of the ica agreements we sign and the rules of this forum. The only type of hints we can give is that it is a large company on the sassie reporting platform. You can probably use jobslinger to find them

Okay, but you didn't edit your post to remove the name of the former MSC.

Thanks. You saved the volunteer moderators a bit of work. The posting guidelines only have one hard and fast rule, "Do not reveal the clients of mystery shopping companies." Most ICAs we sign include some type of non-disclosure clause. It is always better to err on the side of caution.

The non-disclosure is probably one of the stupidest rules in mystery shopping and should be done away with. It's as if somebody believes that a mystery shopping company wishing to poach a client couldn't...you know...read a job board.

Glad you found them! I feel your pain, as someone keeps snatching the BWW shops near me as soon as they show up sad smiley And also unfortunately no BWW near work so I can watch the Euro Cup...
I schedule some franchise locations in Ohio, Virginia and Arizona. So, if you're in any of those states, email me at MsScheduler@atlanticbb.net and I will provide you with additional information on the company and assignments available.

Thanks Judy - Unfortunately I'm in SoCal, and these shops just fly off a few minutes after they're made available sad smiley
There are still a few posted up in Nor Cal... come on up! winking smiley

Shopper in California's Bay Area
I took one of these jobs a few weeks ago and invited my good friend to come with me (my treat-ha!). Neither of us had ever been to BWW before, even though we are both sports fans. It was also my first restaurant shop. I really hate to say it but the whole experience was awful. The service was so terrible....and believe me when I say, I am a very easy going patron. We had all of our appetizers, salads, dinner and drinks thrown at us within 3 minutes time. Seriously, no exaggeration, three minutes. It was horrendous.

I actually dreaded doing the report that night because I knew I would have to write such a negative report. I was brutally honest when I wrote it, but it was just sad because I really wanted to like the place and return again.

It's up to me to make me happy.
There are mystery shopping companies that post their clients on their main webpage to attract other clients. When I wanted to do a famous giant steak restaurant I Googled it and found the MSC promoting their client on their page. Hope that helps you, was also able to find BWW by using Google too.
Be careful. I decided to Google BWW and mystery shopping and so far I have found 1) a scam site replete with shopper instructions, payment terms, and an att.net email address; 2) a legitimate MSC which is still touting their value to BWW even though they are not the current MSC used by BWW; 3) online postings to various forums looking for mystery shoppers by a different former MSC; 4) a testimonial from a mystery shopper touting her motivational money management website; and several others. Even knowing the identity of the MSC which currently shops them (I do shops for them), I could not find them from a Google search. I am not saying that GuyFawkes did not find the current MSC, because it depends so much on search terms, I just wanted to point out some of the dangers involved in using Google to find mystery shops. I have occasionally succeeded, but some MSCs are notorious for listing every client they ever had.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
BWW has been with at least 3 different MSPS from what I know and at one time two at the same time. Beside the locations that got bonused the fee has always been $5. I happen to like the restaurant and the shops tend to be easy so its one of the few I will do at such low pay. I knew they were switching back when they switched most recently but still took me forever to find the new msp.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
Just got one. It will probably be the last one as well based on the 20+ pages on the report.
Unless the food is fantastic ( Which I seriously doubt. )

There are 20 pages? I do them all of the time and they are super easy.

20 pages for B-Dubs? I do them quite a bit and the report takes me 10 minutes, max. I've never seen 20 pages unless you're counting the pages with the photos of the employees in their uniforms.

TWENTY pages? You must do a different BWW shop than I do. The guidelines for the shop I do, including huge pictures of the employees in various uniforms, are 9 pages long. The report is about 5 pages long. It includes the guidelines and repeats all the pictures. Not a hard report. Good luck with yours. My report is short and easy.
There are two (that I know of) MSCs that shop BWW. At least last time I knew. I've done one dine-in for the MSC that pays a very small! fee plus reimbursement, and am doing a take-out shop this week. The reimbursement is enough for one meal or a medium order of wings, or a small wings and cheap appetizer. We like the food, so we count the fee toward the food, too!

The report for this MSC is easier than the report for the old one. Not much difference, but a little easier, I think.

As I understand it, the other MSC that shops them gives reimbursement only, and I'm not signed up with that one, so I have no idea how easy or hard the report is. I was going to sign up with them just to get BWW again, but since I found the other company, I'm good.... Just need my BDubs' fix every now and again....

Yes, that's right. With the previous company, my ex-wife and me would both do BWW shops so I could go twice a month in the same location. With the new company, it doesn't say that it's not allowed, I think. But I don't have a wife anymore.
@Whitx5 wrote:

It stinks having to wait 30 days between shops at the same location.

30 days is nothing. When this msc first starting doing B-Dubs, you had to wait 180 days/6 months!! I knew that wouldn't last.
Also, there are 2 Sassie companies that do the BWW shops. One (the larger company) does the restaurant portion and the other does a bar integrity version. Both should be found on Jobslinger but the bar one may not have as many shops available.

Shopping across Indiana but mostly around Indianapolis.
I hate how all the BWW shops have the company name hidden in their emails and job descriptions. I can't shop them because my friend's husband manages a group of the restaurants in my area. I constantly get emails for the jobs, look up the address hopeful that it will be some other restaurant then chuck it in the trash with a sigh. He's the only person I know in the food industry, I liked it better when he managed Pizza Hut, I didn't want to shop there.
I forgot about the beer shop that I just saw come up on iSS. So, maybe there's three, at least, companies that shop them?

By the way, do you have the impression that, sometimes, at some locations, the server knows that you are a mystery shopper? I remember, with the old company, at a specific location, I was treated like a king for 2 years by servers and managers. Then, one time, I made a small critic, the server didn't agree, and then the msc told me that they found out I was a mystery shopper and I couldn't do this location anymore. Now, 2 years later, with the new msc, I went back. This shows that when you make a critic, you have to be 100% sure of what you're saying.
My friend says he can usually pick out the shopper easily but doesn't say anything to his staff since he's pretty confident he has trained them well and wants to know if something isn't right. He says there are a few clues but the biggest giveaway is how and how much the shoppers look around. Customers passively look at the staff and suroundings but shoppers are actively watching and that mixed in with a few other clues makes the shopper stand out he says.
Thanks for this informative answer. I intuitively thought that the manager told his servers that I was a mystery shopper, but apparently I was wrong. I see that it is a tool for the manager to judge the server. Also, I thought that giving too much details in my report could make me be discovered, but from what you're saying, it's not the main reason to be discovered.
Last msc shop at BWW, I made 2 small critics (the server didn't remove used napkins during the meal, and she didn't engage in the conversation). Next time I went there, not as a mystery shopper, but just as a regular customer to watch a soccer game, the same server corrected her 2 mistakes, so she must have known that I was a mystery shopper.

Or maybe it worked as it should work, that the manager counseled the employee on her serving mistakes and she has corrected those mistakes and is now serving all her customers correctly. smiling smiley
