To add to what bg said....The is such a shortage of shopper of color that maný schedulers need you! Client of many sorts want all ethnic and age groups to rotate through their assignments. The key may be that you and your bf need to apply to different MSCs if your computers are on the same ip address. Bty, àt least one client of Imforma insists that every brand be shopped by several ethnic and age and gender groups on every rotation. They would probably be delighted to see you and their shops pay very well.
I had an interesting experience recently. I am a "young senior," caucasian female. I signed up for a shop, thinking it was at a new outlet shopping mall. It was, instead, in a very non-diverse neighborhood. I sat in the parking lot for 20 minutes and did not see another caucasian. I called the scheduler, and told her that I was not adverse to doing the shop, but that I thought it would be a dead give-away that I was a MS, since I could not envision a scenario where I would just happen to be in the neighborhood and pop in to the store in question. I later received an email, saying that they contacted the client who wanted me to go ahead. I received great service in the store, and I believe that this was their standard level of service, but I could not help but feel that I had been "made." The shop went well, but I think they would have been better served by using an African American.
