If only...things you think about doing but don't

I often do shops for a grocery chain and one of the questions they are supposed to ask is "Did you find everything you were looking for?"

You are required to make a purchase (reimburseable up to $2). Last time I went, I bought some female hygiene products and the young teenage cashier did not ask me the question. I was not trying to test that out but I genuinely needed that item.

I imagine that it would be an awkward question for a cashier to ask if you came to the register with a box of condoms or something similar... but I would never do anything to get the employee to mess up on purpose.

Anyone else think about something they would like to do but would never actually do during a shop?

Oh yeah. I would like to purchase some home pregnancy test, personal lubricates, and condoms and see what they're reaction would be.

My brother always makes smart a$$ comments and the poor cashiers don't know what to say. I can't take him anywhere, so I know better than to bring him on shops when he's in town!!

I'm sometimes tempted to say "I'm not on a shop today, you don't have to try to upsell." You know, when you're in a shop privately that you have shopped and know they are supposed to upsell but you are in a hurry and just want to pay. Never actually said it of course.

I'm almost the opposite.. I'll be at a store privately, get bad service (or super good service) and want to say "If only I was on a shop today!!"

I was at a Chicken Chain Restaurant having lunch(Not MSing). The salsa area was a mess, The salsas were almost empty. I asked the associate, "Have you heard of mystery shoppers?" To see his reaction was. He just smiled, he had no clue what I was talking about.
