Policy About Contacting Vendors

I am wondering whether it is ever appropriate to contact a corporate or regional vendor/store office requesting to be put in touch with their oursourced or inhouse MS program. There are some locations I would love to shop but can't seem to find the right MSC. Anyone tried this? Is it prohibited? Guidelines for doing so?

I knew that one of my favorite stores was shopped, but I didn't know who the MSC was. I contacted them to find out. The store emailed me back saying that they did use an MSC, but could not say who they were.

I would assume if they were shopped and you were registered with their MSC you would already know. Otherwise what could be inappropriate if you have not signed a contract with a MSC prohibiting contact? Until then you are a customer who can ask anything you want.
