Today, I had a very slow mystery shopping experience where I only had two assignments: one at a pet store, the other a non-targeted apartment. This scheduler had a tough time finding a person within a particular area to cover this shop, so I agreed to help her out for a $25 bonus that went along with the $30 shop fee, making the total shop fee of $55 (of course). She accepted. Lucky for me, there was an apartment close to my home that I accepted for $50. There were a couple of other locations that were pending, yet another scheduler mentioned that she would have to get back to me later in the day.
Long story short, the scheduler got back to me later, indicating that I would have to do the other proposed work later in the in week. This meant that I only had two jobs for the day. My dog was the star at this pet store, to which the employee catered to him solely, pretty much leaving me in a role of being "that guy that pays the bill." After returning home and dropping off the dog, I completed the apartment shop within 22 minutes, yet it wasn't nearly as fun as shop number 1. This apartment job was spent walking, walking, and walking to the two vacant apartments without a golf cart in 105 degree heat (what fun). As a result, shop #2 was actually work, in a way.
Overall, my dog assisted me in making more money on one shop than everything else after that. Go figure.
