Is it me or is it idiot day for schedulers?

So I received two emails asking to help on jobs listing a bonus. These were seperate jobs and seperate companies. I replied to each nicely stating what I would need above what the current offer was including bonus. Example shop paying $8.50 normal plus $4 reimbursement and had a $5 bonus. I asked for $20 plus reimbursement. Other shop stated bonus plus reimbursement and job had no initial fee. I asked for an amount above bonus on this one plus reimbursement. one email replies that it is currently paying $8.50 plus $5 bonus and $4 reimbursement and I could assign it on their job board. The other email replies the shop is currently paying the bonus stated in original email. I am not an idiot I can read. I emailed as I needed more to do the shops a simple we can't go that high right now would have been fine. Makes me hate this some days as I have to deal with morons.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.

I don't see the problem with the reply, it means they will not offer more at this time and that the stated amount is all they offer. I think I know what company you are talking about, they have been begging someone to take a shop a half hour from me that will cost be $5.50 in gas and tolls...I just ignored the requests as I didn't expect to get any additional fee if I asked...now I know I was right.

And this MSC makes it impossible to plan it as part of a route as you may apply and not get assigned for days or weeks, or not at all.

How about this lovely e-mail that I received today (this is the 4th desperate e-mail I've received today on this shop):

"PLEASE HELP!!! $15 CELL PHONE SHOP
We need your HELP getting a shop done for the team. Is there any chance you can complete this shop for us?
Please let me know if you can help…. The goal will be achieved by YOU‼!"

Absolutely no bonus. Sorry, the goal WILL NOT be achieved by me!

What if you write back and say: "It will be achieved by me today for a $15 bonus".smiling smiley
Or "If YOU can meet my goal of a $15 bonus for this shop, I can HELP us both achieve our goals today."
What team? SMH.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
There's a shop that's been posted all month long at $20 that I "could" do on my way home by Friday, which is the deadline (supposedly). But it's never been listed with a bonus--not now and not in the many months that I've seen it come and go on the job board. I've always thought it was low for the amount of work required, so I won't touch it for $20. I'm thinking if it's still available tomorrow, I'll write and ask for a $15 bonus, with the shop to be done on Friday. Maybe it will fly.

The same shop is available in a different location, too far from me, also "desperately" needing to be done. And they're offering a whopping $5 bonus on that one.

I don't understand why these companies don't offer bonuses on shops like this that are clearly hard to fill at base rate, or because there aren't enough shoppers in the area to keep the rotation intact....

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.

You:

"What's the bonus on this shop?

They: "Bonus?"

You say, "Yes, "**B-O-N-U-S**"

They: "Oh. There is no Bonus on this shop." tongue sticking out smiley
I've been getting calls asking me to do 1. A simple bank shop for $20. It's an hour away. It would cost me $10 for gas, and another $30 for the $15 per hour I like to get. What makes them think I will do it for $20? They haven't offered any bonus they just say the shop pays $20. Fine. But not fine for me. 2. A simple sandwich shop for $15. Once again, an hour away. I stopped answering the phone because they just keep calling. I want to say "I can stay home and lose money. I don't have to travel 50 miles to do it."
There's a new scheduler for the grocery shops for my area. She called and asked me to do a shop 30 miles away, through a mountain range, it takes 45 minutes to get there on a good day. It's where all the 18 wheeler's get from here to there. It's why my windshield has chips in it.

I told her I'd requested pad on that, did she read it. She said she doesn't like to add pad because it really doesn't work, she likes to give flexibility in scheduling instead. This is why I put the prettiest nail polish on a certain finger.

Must not be that important because shops needing help often pay $100-$250 for Emergency Shops!
